QUESTION

As a manager, how do you plan for a day with no 1st team player available?

In today's world, injuries are not the only thing that would prevent a player from being on a manager's squad list. There are also other factors, the most obvious one being that of the coronavirus. Such circumstances could cause players to self isolate for a number of days. As a manager, how are you going to plan for the day such a thing happens for your entire first team?

Any reward that will be received on this will go to help boost our community steem power.

THANK YOU!

One of the hardest situation that can give a manager headache is losing majority of his first team players either to injury or whatever.

We have seen lots of cases like that especially in moment like this, where some of the players will go for international call ups or injury or covid-19 or any complications. It's easy to loose the first team players, example is the Tunisia team that will be facing nigeria today, it was reported that 12 of the team players and coaches were out because of covid-19. Things like this is a huge challenge to a team, but as a manager, you should expect and prepare for moments like this because they are inevitable.
That's why a good manger should know that his second team should be as good as is first team and he should give chances for them to play to gain confidence and stay fit.

Plus a team academy players should be well engaged and given chances to prove themselves for momentuke that may occur. Given them chances in cup matches and regular training with the first team players will help build their confidence and prepare them for days like them.

Lastly a good manager should always have a plan B where players who are not in the first team will be familiar with so that when moments like this comes up they would be familiar and prepare to face the challenges ahead.

That is true. Lower team players need adequate play time too. Thank you .

Well, to begin with, i don't pray for any manager to cone across such devastating situation especially in a crucial to determine your potential in the club. So in this case, it is advisable for every club to have an Academy and a look of it, majority of this fielders plays more better than of the first team players.

This lack of first team and using the Academy players favoured Arsene Wenger as a manger then because he barely buy players but he was able to build from the Academy and sold at a higher rate.

That's the reason why every club should have an academy players for unforseen circumstances like this.

It will be an awkward situation for a manager to plan a day without a first team player available. Every manager wouldn't find it funny.

As a manager, when there's no first player available, I have to look at the B-team. That's why it is always advisable for a manager to be also putting an eye on the U-23 team in case of situations like this.

Academy and u-23 players are a good move. Thanks.

For me as a manager ,when such thing comes up, I will look to the academy and from there I will be able to get players that really wants to play and break into the first team and I will motivate and encourage them to show the first team that they’re better and younger and can compete and also to take away fear and represent the team and announce their name to the world.

Certainly. Good move.

Thanks to @worldoffootball for this great daily contest once again, it really help us.

In my opinion, a manager shouldn’t fully depend on his first team always. There should always be an alternative to everything.
In a circumstance where a team’s first team is not available, there should be a second squad. And every team is ought to have an academy where they can get new players and potential players.

A team is not supposed to be built upon one or two players; that’s why I always hail Pep Gurdiola, he doesn’t build his team on anyone. If any player is not available, he’s always ready to go, though it will affect him small.

With this, every team has substitute. So Incase A is not good, you bring in B.
There should always be an alternative to everything.

Thank you.

I will fully depend on my reserve players. First team players are not always the best players on the field. There are reserve players that are better than the first team ones. Therefore, i will depend solely on my reserve players by fixing in some academy players if there is any.

Players from the academy will learn from what the reserve players have learned from the so called first team players. Their agency of play because they have not been in the first team will be high because that is a bigger platform for them to show their talents and probably gets a first team call up . This will push the reserve teams players to do their best making me achieve my goal.

This is a situation no one would like to find himself in because it might leave you with a headache. As a manager, from time to time, you should try out your academy players on the field to give them a little bit confidence. Also, you should be rotating your squad more to reduce fatigue and to solve certain situations like this. Rangnick did very well when he was frest in Manchester United by playing most of the academy players in a champions league match.
when faced with such situation, because i will be a regular rotator of my squad, it wouldnt be difficult using my reserved players. Also, i will be trying out my academy squad from time to time so in this situation, because they have a little bit confidence, i believe they will play with confidence.
