Hello friends of steemit, welcome.
It is nice to see this week a new contest in the community and talk about such an interesting topic, as is the search for players for our team, there are various qualities that we can observe or value in a football player, but when a coach capture a player characteristics are observed according to the position of the player, there are also managers who have their preferences according to the style of play they like to practice or the type of player they need.
Classification.
We can classify in 3 ways the decisions to take, firstly I will mention the basic characteristics or qualities that a player can have and then we will talk about the characteristics that a player must have according to the position or style of the one that is going to be adapted, but all this taking into account the point of view of a manager or scout when looking for players.
(1) - Basic characteristics or qualities: Regardless of the position or age of the player, he must be mentally stable and eager to improve, that is to say, he must not give up in any situation, he must also know how to work in a team and think collectively, another important point is to have a winning attitude and also be humble.
(2) - Characteristics or attributes according to the position: Although all footballers must have conditions in some cases they are required more, as in the case of the striker or attacking midfielder, despite not being a priority sometimes players are sought certain biotypes, as in the case of goalkeepers, where they should preferably be taller.
In addition to this, the most important thing is to know the skills according to the positions in which we are going to use the player, for example: Sometimes we can look for players with fast play or players with a lot of output, i.e. offensive style, but we can also look for players with less output and that allow us to maintain stability in the transitions of the team, all this depending on the alignments, the position or the style of play.
(3) - Characteristics according to the style of play: This is associated with the previous classification (2), although a player can adapt to any style of play, regardless of the position, we can see that there are characteristics that allow a player to adapt to the philosophy of play of a club or the style of play of a coach, for example: There are players who are excellent passers, assistants and practice a fluid game, where they can contribute a lot to the team, we can see this in clubs like Barcelona, where a few years ago in their best moments they were looking for players who adapted to their style of play, fluid, fast and with many touches of the ball.
These types of characteristics often come naturally to some players, so it is less difficult for them to adapt to teams that have a style of play like the one that characterised Johan Cruyff. Knowing this, you know that there are many styles of play and philosophies, some more successful than others.
Let's define a very common one and it is that of the clubs that play counter attack, they are clubs that normally let play and do not retain the ball so much, sometimes they can play in a very defensive way, normally the players that we observe here are sometimes more individualistic or that open the field to generate long passes when counter attacking, they are players that wait to generate, these are characteristics that we can look for in a player, depending on the style of play.

Is there any particular position you are quite interested in?
There are endless ways to classify a player in terms of characteristics, physical, style of play or mentality, but my favourite position and the one I consider a backbone is the central midfielder, as it is the player who can create stability, distribute play, helping in transitions from attack to defence and even being an extra player in an area determines, depending on the situation of the match, moving into the defensive zone or attack depending on where he is needed.
Conclusion.
To conclude, if I were a coach in a club, I would look for a player according to the position that I need, but that meets the attitudes or basic qualities for the style of play that I am going to implement, it should be clarified that this changes when we are talent scouts, as we only locate outstanding players and regardless of the position we take them to the quarry to form them and that they are an option for the future, and once formed if all the above mentioned are studied, to thus know if they fit in our team.
