Before I start, I will like to congratulate the winner of the just ended contest for their efforts. To #worldoffootball and @njaywan for always bring us interactive contest.

I'm much honored to be part of this community and to participating in this interesting contest.
In the world of football there are a lot of roles to occupy, for instance; scouting role, Manager role, player role, technically board, Officiating team (referees), Presidents and many others.
Among all these roles, the player role is what interest me and most crucial.

Why Player role is my Favorite Among All the Roles

Matches played without Managers, area games without referees, local teams without presidents and technical boards but football without Players is imposible.
Player role coordinate all the other roles in the football world.
Below are my reasons;

Player Sponsorships

Players have the privilege of enjoying sponsorships from companies. A lot of players are being sponsored for most of the things they use in the field of play. Training kits and football boots are some of the things sponsored. Even in players personal life, they still enjoy sponsorships. Luxuries cars, body creams, clothes, wristwatches and many stuffs of players are sometimes sponsored. Not to look far, most of the star players almost spend nothing on themselves due to the kind of sponsors they have. Nike, Adidas, Coca cola, Pepsi, Emirates are some of the sponsors for most players. Below is a sponsorship deal Cristiano Ronaldo made with NIKE.

Upon all the self excitement players enjoyed playing football, club owners again pay their team players for playing. Most professions are paid monthly even some managers and scouters are paid monthly, but for players weekly wages are assured in their contract terms. Some players make huge sum of monies from their weekly wages and even get tokens for winning a game. Taking Leonel Messi for instance, he makes close to 1 million $ for a week for just playing a player role. Below is a weekly wages contract terms of Leonel Messi.

Barcelona highest-paid player per week? Lionel Messi is obviously Barcelona’s highest-paid player with a weekly wage of £500,000. He last signed a contract till the summer of 2021 and there have been talks of him signing an extension recently. It became a matter of huge deal over summer.source

Popularity and Respect

It's obvious that players are the most popular people in the world. In the field of play fans risk their lifes to make contact with their favorite player. Fans stop their favorite players to take pictures with them. Averagely, on social media, players have the most followers. Players earn much respect easily from people due to the popularities they get from playing football. Kids often chose football players as their role models. Cristiano Ronaldo was rank as the most fellowed person on instagram in 2020.

Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo heads the ranking of the most popular Instagram accounts as of December 2020. He is the most-followed person on the photo sharing app platform with nearly 244 million followers. Instagram's own account was ranked first with over 369 million followers.source

Trophies and Awards

Though other roles aside player role play a vital role when it comes to club or national trophies but all the efforts are put in by the players. After a competition most of the awards given out are to the players. Only club managers have the privilege to earn manager of the month and tournament. I haven't seen any awards given to scouts and technical boards for their good work done after a tournament. Players even get award for just a single match (man of the match). After a tournament players obtain most of the awards. Player of the tournament, goal king, most assists, best defender and many others are all
awards given to players after a tournament. Even after a season of play, FIFA gives out awards to Players. Robert Lewandowski is the current FIFA Mens player of the year.

Congratulations, Robert Lewandowski! The FC Bayern top scorer is The Best FIFA Men's Player 2020. The award from world football's governing body goes to a player from the German record champions for the first time. Lewandowski prevailed in the final selection against Cristiano Ronaldo and last year's winner Lionel Messi.source

Player Role is an Exercise and a Healthy Role

The cardio only a player does in the field of play is much more than visiting the gym. Approximately, a player can cover a distance of 300-500 meters in the field of play which regulates the normal body keeping them fit and healthy. Aside the normal runs in the field, every player has and instructor and a nutritionist. They always make sure the player maintains healthy condition.

CONCLUSION

The player role has advantages over all the other role in the football world. Players become managers, scouts, club presidents after retirement. Former coach (Frank Lampard) of Chelsea FC was a former player of same club, Pirlo of Juventus a former player. The Barcelona defender Gerald Pique has an ambition of becoming the club presidents while still a player.

In a player role as in myself, I play as a defender. I have a lot of players I inspire while playing as a defender, some are; Virgil Van Dijk of Liverpool, Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid, Thiago Silver of Chelsea FC.

Among All this great players, I have chosen Virgil Van Dijk as a role model. He has currently being endorse by the sportswear company, Nike and featured as the cover star of the champions edition of EA Sports FIFA video game.
Also Virgil Van Dijk is the current UEFA player and FIFA best defender of 2020. He has all these reputations and privileges due to the responsibility he bare as a player.
