He is one of the greatest players of all time. He joined his first academy when he was only seven, played for Andorinha academy for three years, in his third year he was promoted to the nacional football club where he played in a three- day trial in sporting CP and passed successfully to play for the club. As I said in my guide to be a great player, you need a home that will give you an opportunity for trials to be selected for big clubs. Andorinha and nacional football club gave Ronaldo an opportunity to prove himself in a trial so as to be selected for sporting CP.

Ronaldo even at his thirties still trains 3-4 hours a day in at least five times a week. This tells you how serious he took his training when he was striving to be great. He always focuses what makes him great in the pitch. Just his recent move to Juventus, his team mate’s conferees how they adore him training, that he always enters first and be the last to leave.

He always adopts a new style of play when he moves to a different club. His main position was left-flank in his united and Madrid days. He took advantage of his pacey movements and dribbling capabilities to help him past his opponents. When he moves to Juventus, he was already 33 due to this aging he evolve his style from pacey and dribbling at the flanks to a centre forward where he make good use of his height. He always adopts to suit him and that is what a great player does.

Ronaldo has a personal dietician who has worked with since his united days. He eats six times a day consisting of high protein diet with a lot of wholegrain carbs, fruits and vegetables and also avoids sugary foods. This gives him a lot of energy to do his normal workouts. Ronaldo has officially renewed his personal endorsement deal with Herbalife Nutrition as a brand ambassador. This tells you how he values his diet. He also takes a lot of rest, sometimes 4-5 times naps daily to regain his energy.

This great player we talk of today has been through a lot since childhood. His team mates at Nacional club often bullied and insulted him for his father’s profession and his drunkard nature. His father passed out when he was 20 which hurt him so much that he promised never to drink again. He has been charged with rape allegations several times. All these incidents harmed his mental stamina in a point. Even at his first season in Manchester united, he one scored three goals in the season which brought his confident level down. When they criticise him of all these, he always says three particular quotes, “your love makes me strong, your hate makes me unstoppable”, “If you think you are perfect already, then you never will be.” And the last one “I am living a dream I never want to wake up from.” These three quotes always give him a reason to fight his mental challenges and build upon his confidence to achieve what he inspired for. When he fails to deliver in a certain match he makes the next match look great for his funs.

On several occasions, he made mention of Luis Figo and Rui Costa as those he learned a lot of skill from. His only aim was to play in the Portugal national league which he has accomplished. After the death of his father, he took Sir Alex Ferguson as his god father, he always listens to what he says and does what he asked. Sir Alex Ferguson made a lot of Great impact in the life our great Ronaldo.
