The Champions League Games In Perspective And A Preview Of Juventus Vs Chelsea.

Yesterday we had interesting games come and some pretty surprises. We had big teams loosing to big teams and also beat teams loosing to small teams. The most shocking defeat was Real Madrid loosing to Sheriff, a team most people have undermined but they have won they first 2 games successfully. Sheriff was able to hand Real madrid their first ever loss this season.

Manchester City too lost their champions league tie against PSG at the Pac De France.
I wasn't really surprised that they lost but what amazed me was the fact that they were not able to score a single goal with the games best opportunity coming to Mahrez of Manchester City but he could only direct his shot against the bar towards an empty net.

The other results are

Leipzeig loosing to Club Brugge at home by 2 goals to 1.
Liverpool having an emphatic win against Fc porto beating them by 5 goals to 1.
Atletico turned it around late to beat Ac Milan by 2 goals to 1 at the San Siro.
Ajax beat Besiktas by 2 goals to nil.
Dortmund were able to beat Sporting by 1 goal at home.
And finally Inter Milan were held to a goalless draw away at the Shaktar Donetsk home.

Now to the game of the day.

Juventus vs Chelsea.

Juventus first game of the champions league was against Zenith, they were able to beat Zenith by 3 goals t o nil.
Life for their manager Allegri has unfortunately not gone according to plan.
I don't think he would have expected that his side will be only able to gather a point from their first 3 games.

And surprisingly this games were against minor teams in the league.The start to the champions league is what they need to boost their moral to be able to kick start their season in style.They did that winning and most importantly keeping a clean sheet.

After that win against Zenith they have been boosted and they were able to win their weekend against Sampdoria.
Even though they won that fixture I was not totally convinced considering that they were playing at home.

Chelsea on the other hand has been brilliant this past weeks.
They have started this seasons Premier league very strongly, taking maximum points from all their games except two of their marches against the big dogs in the game.They drew to Liverpool at Anfield eventhough they were a man
down.Theydefended so brilliantly against Liverpool and at the end the day they were satisfied with a draw.

They won their first champions league games vs Zenit successfully even though it was not easy. They showed why you need to have a strong defense which is one of the areas Juventus seems to be lacking this season.
Unfortunately they lost to Manchester City this season in a rather poor fashion.
They did not play their attacking and free flowing football against the citizens and I kept on thinking if it was that City were too good or that was their plan all along .

Juventus and Chelsea have faced of 4 times and they boost of equal rights in the head to head department with Chelsea winning by 1-0 in their first encounter and Juventus winning by 3 goals to nil in their recent encounter. The other 2 encounters have ended in a 2-2 draw. And this time time the match is at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus will be without their star players Morata and Dybala and Chelsea will be without Important players Kante. But Jorginho has played at his position brilliantly so I don't think they will be missing much.
Juventus on the other hand will need to do a lot to be able able stop Lukaku form scoring and at the moment I don't think they can really do that.

I see this match not be free scoring even though Juventus are leaking at the back currently. I think there will be a couple of goals for Juventus and Chelsea too but I think it will end up in a 2-2 draw.
