I've never understood VAR and yesterday's match between Liverpool and Chelsea is a perfect reason why. I don't know why the goal of Mane was disallowed cause the commentators were saying one thing and the VAR officials were showing us a different picture altogether. While the commentators were talking about the infringement of van Dijk on Recce James which allowed him not to run freely, the VAR officials were busy drawing lines to say Virgil was offside when the ball was played in by Trent.

Now let us agree that he (Virgil) was offside, which he was but he didn't even touch the ball he didn't even jump for the ball. So in that case I don't see how that should be called an offside. In the second scenario where the commentators said Van Dijk was obstructing the run of James. If James had felt any pullback he would have been the first person to run to the ref and then complain.Whatever be the case I don't think the goal should have been disallowed.

When we want to consider the top teams in Europe, Chelsea is one of them and its amazing how things have turned round for them in less than a year. They went toe to toe with Liverpool yesterday and they had chances to win the game if not for Mount. He was given so many chances and his best effort was to hit the ball against the post. Tuchel would be looking back at those missed chances and wonder why he decided to start Mount in the first place.

Liverpool on the other hand will never sacrifice how they play for anything and Mendy, Chelsea's goal keeper was their only problem. They got through to him on several occasions but couldn't beat him. He showed how class he was yesterday and I for one think Tuchel should have left him for the penalty shoot out.

Kelher has proved to us time and time that he is destined for greatness but I was surprised Klopp decided to play him in a cup final instead of Allison. Kelher has similar goal keeping skills to that of Allison and he did great yesterday.

Luiz Diaz has surprisingly fit into the Liverpool team without any struggles and he beat Chaloba on the right wing back position each time he was left one on one with him.

Anyways It was a great game and both teams set up to win the game as it was a cup final but at the end one team had to win and other team will go home crying.
