CONTEST - MY FAVORITE ROLE IN THE FOOTBALL WORLD

The beautiful game of football is one that has transformed from being just a form of recreation to many things beyond the joy it gives, watching 22 athletes run after a round leather.

Ordinarily, I would have loved to be an attacking midfielder, otherwise called a supporting striker in the number 8 role, however, looking critically, especially for the sake of this contest and beyond, I think I'd prefer to be a club president/owner.

Being a club president/owner allows me to first of, create employment opportunities for people. We can imagine how an average European club, functioning properly, can create jobs for hundreds of people. From the coaches, to the players, the scouts, support staff, technical crew, mascots and so on, that clubs now have. It, for me, is a avenue to change and impact the macroeconomic state of the society.

Asides that, I also get to bring joy to people's home. Through the joy that football brings and the unity it creates among warring societies, I'd be promoting peaceful coexistence. You can imagine how football has helped unite a lot of communities who are at loggerheads. They can't bear to see each other, but with football, they forget their differences.

Furthermore, it's a business opportunity for me. With good money for investment, the returns will always be worth it. Who would have thought that football today would be worth so much. For club owners/presidents, it's a very potent way of investment.

While there are a number of club presidents/owners that I revere, Real Madrid's Florentino Perez, for me, is the biggest influence. In his 18 years at the helms in the capital club, he's won 26 titles (5 - Champions League, La Liga, World Club Cup, Spanish Supr Cup, 4 - UEFA Super Cup and 2 Copa del Rey.

His Galactico era is also one that can never be overlooked when the history of football is being discussed. And, having won re-election as club president, I wouldn't be surprised if Real Madrid claim this season's Champions League title. Big possibility.

Maybe because of my personality as well, I love to stay behind the scenes, hence, being a club president would fit perfectly. The presidents or owners don't get the recognitions that are easily accorded the stars of the club. Who remembers Florentino Perez when they talk about how Real Madrid won three consecutive Champions League titles? Not many. But, everyone remembers Cristiano Ronaldo and how pivotal he was to the Real Madrid team.

Big ups to @njaywan and the community custodians for coming up with this. I believe it's helped a lot of people see beyond jut the 90 minutes enjoyment.

I like the perspective within which you see the role of a club's president.

It is a very important job which doesn't only affect football, but society as a whole.

Thank you for your participation.
