The best team in the game of football is not just a team that is made of the best set of players in the world, but a team with a good manager that has all it takes to bring players from different places, with different behavior and culture together. That kind of manager is what every team needs to excel in the field of play, manager that has the ability to make out something from nothing, a manager that studies his players and understands each of them and being able to place them at a proper position to get the best out of them. There are players that are individually endowed with great ability, but the reason we aren't hearing about them is because of the inability of his manager to identify his best position and to play him there. There are stories of players that began their career as a defender and finally ending up as a forwarder because they met a manager that understood them. Someone like Gareth Bale began his career as a left back and after a few years he was switched to an attacking midfielder and he is doing well there.

Manager

In football, the manager’s job is of great importance. Not only is he entrusted with the job of devising the strategy of his team, he also has to pick the correct set of players and make necessary changes during the course of the match. He also has the responsibility of honing young talents, and developing them into great players. He also typically carries the weight of expectation of millions of club supporters.

The role of a manager can not be over emphasized, because they are the hidden force not seen in the field of play, but has great influence on what is happening at the field.

I want to let us know that it's possible for manager with a little depth of squad to win the champion's league, because there are managers that have surprised the world with the sets of players they have even when nobody believed or knew they could achieve any fit. Jose Mourinho was one of those managers who surprised the world in the year 2004, by taking a club side like Potor FC to Champion's league glory without having what we call the best sets of players. Players like Ricardo Calvalho and Deco came into limelight after that season.

Another manager that surprised the world was Claudio Ranieri in the 2015/2016 season with Leicester city, this was a club that no one expected to make the top four position in the English premier league, but the manager went all out with players like Danny Drinkwater, Kasper Schmeichel, and Christian Fuchs, Riyad Mahrez and Vardy to come first in a league that has clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool. Time would fail me to talk about manager like Brendan Rogers of Leicester city, Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid and lots of other.

How to win the Champion's league with little Squad depth

Understand your players

The first step for me is to understand the players at your disposition and their best positions of play and play them there. It would really help the players give their best, but when they are forced to play in position that they are not used to it makes them struggle to give their best and once they are struggling it would affect the team at large.

Avoid Frequent rotation

Team rotation is one of the ways of maintaining a healthy team and it equally helps the managers prevent their stars from incurring unnecessary injury. But this rotation would only be beneficial to team with great depth of Squad. A manager that lacks depth in their squad should just work with the best players in his rank, train them and make them understand each other in the field of play. The manager can make use of the other players in the weekend league matches and reserve his best eleven for the midweek Champion's league match. Once these players understands themselves it would be difficult for any team to beat them.

Encourage your Players

There is no manager without a player. The managers are like the architect while the players are the executioners that executes the plans of the architect. Encouraging the players would go a long way in bringing the best out of them. So many managers has lost great players because of this singular reason, even if a player's performance was poor there is still a need to encourage him for the sake of the next game. A player like Kelvin De Bruyne had this same issue with Mourinho in the manager's second appointment as Chelsea's Coach, but the clash between the manager and the player made the manager to sell the player to Manchester City, which made Chelsea to loss a big asset in the player. It's good to encourage the players when they give their best and equally when they give their worst.

Thanks for your time.

You make valid points here friend. It is true that in order to be able to reach a higher stage with a smaller team you need to take some of these intensive measures so you can reach the very top level.

Thank you for your participation.

It's my pleasure sir.

Beautiful one out there. It does not matter how big your SBD is. This contest specifically is made for people with low STEEM power like you. Because using your account for example your total steem power is 26.

Assuming you make a power up of 10 steem. It means that your percentage increase is (10/26+10)*100 = 27.7%.

Which is more likely to be the winner because those with high STEEM power will find it difficult to do up to that 27.7%.

I hope you understand it.
Thanks
