Good day guys, hope you are all doing well and enjoying the interesting matches from the ongoing African cup of nations. I am looking forward to another set of interesting matches in today's fixtures.

Speaking of interesting matches, one of the most interesting and fun match up we have seen in this tournament so far is the one between super Eagles of Nigeria and the Pharaohs of Egypt. Before the match started a lot of people felt Egypt would win the match, even some Nigerians felt Mohammed salah would make a difference and would be a big problem for the Nigeria defence. The opposite was the case when the match started, I saw a motivated, focused, tactically sound Nigeria team with their 4-2-4 formation against the defending and counter attacking Egypt side. We penetrated and made huge threats to their packed up defense.
Our defense on the other hand was able to switch from going forward to create chances and also holding and camping down Egypt forwards especially Mohammed salah who only had one shot on target throughout the match.

Enough said about the game, I want to take a good look at the starting 11 of the game and also see how they would fair against Sudan tomorrow.

  • GK- Maduka Okoye
He plays for sparta rotherdam as their main Goal keeper and with his impressive performances and saves, he has a move to Watford and would join them after the AFCON tournament. He might not be one of the best right now, but he his young and have the potentials of reaching the top in his career. With one cleansheet already in the tournament, he might end up being the best Goal keeper, if he and Nigeria go all the way to winning the cup.
  • RB - Ola Aina
Fulham RB/LB, he his young, talented, fast and incredible threat when on the attack. He helped the team in stopping Mohammed trezguet in the match and was really impressive when he contributed to the attack. I expect big things in the long career ahead of him.
  • CB- Omeruo
He might not be that idea world class defender but, one thing I know is that he always turns up with good performances when he represent Nigeria, and he was able to keep Mohammed salah in check against Egypt and created the chance that led to the goal with his forward play.
  • CB - TroostEkong
Watford defender, although Watford are struggling right now, but this man was up to the tasks in keeping the defense in check and getting a clean sheet for the book. His leadership skills is unquestionable. I hope he leads the super Eagles to the trophy.
  • LB- Zaidu Sanusi
The energetic engine himself, never gets tired always on the alert, moving from the left back to supporting the winger in the attack, his performance was really commendable, hopefully he keeps the energy and morale going.
  • DMF- Wilfred Ndidi
The strong wall in front of the defense, recovering the ball putting the pressure on the opponent, arguably one of the best Defensive midfielder in the world.
  • CMF- Joe Aribo
The promising and already delivering young player both for his rangers club and for Nigeria, he made the assist to iheanacho, he dominance in the midfield was really impressive, I hope to see more assist and goals from him in this tournament.
  • AMF- Kelechi Iheanacho
Senior man kelz, always delivering when given the opportunity, never disappoint, good goal sense and finishing skill for an attacking midfielder, he his definitely one of the players to watch out for in this tournament.
  • RW- Simon
The dribbling meastro, he tormented and broke the Egypt lb down with his exceptional movement and dribbling skills, always causing a threat anytime the ball is with him, he lunched in the ball the led to the goal. He his definitely a must watch in this tournament.
  • RW- Samuel Chukwueze
The young talented winger, although he didn't do a lot like I expected in the match, I still feel he performed well and tried in creating chances. I hope the win would have boosted his morale and I look forward to seeing him play in the next match.
  • CF- Taiwo Awoniyi
One of the top scoring strikers in bundesliga right now, scoring and contributing to union berlin amazing run in the bundesliga every week. He did his part by disturbing and pulling the Egypt defense for Iheanacho to find spaces in between. I expect lots of goals from him, because he has worked and overcome lots of challenges since the under 17 world cup triumph with Nigeria.

That's it, now to the big question will this team be able to repeat a good and better performance against Sudan tomorrow?
For me the answer is yes, with a coach like ogueahen, who doesn't take laziness, a man of action, he would surely help the team to keep up their morale till the end of the tournament.

That's it from my side, I would love to read your answer to the question. See you after the game.
