Where did the zeal of watching Ghana Notional Team play vanish to ?

Football have been the greatest talent we can talk of when it comes to generations. Generations have passed and it’s still the same game, same rules but there have been improvements. Football is a great skill because it’s dynamic and no one can predict it. That’s one of its feature that keep making it great. I seek to speak about Ghana as a team in Football.

Gone are the days when we use to close early from school to watch football matches. We use to stay up alert just keep us not missing the action of Ghana games. The passion and the deal we had in the 2000s has decreased so much that I can seem to picture the love we had for the game in those days. What has affected the game that we lost the love we use to have for them? This is a question for us all.

Those days when the whistle was blown for a match to start. Everyone glued to his or her set. Even the less privileged had the chance to watch because there were people who will bring their televisions out. Others too will get to know that Ghana is winning when there is a goal. That’s when there will be a unity shout out “Goal”. That’s was when we knew the love for Ghana was great. I don’t know what happened.

I remember the U20 match against Brazil. When Dede Ayew was the captain of the side. They did marvelously well and everyone was ready to watch the final against Brazil. Even when we lose then, we did that we love for the game. That’s was the last time I saw that zeal and live for Ghana match. When Ageyman Badu scored the last penalty and we won that cup. It was amazing.

I will like to hear from you @njaywan and @med.habib how you see the change in time as we have depreciated in the love for Ghanaian football. Thanks for your time though.

I agree. It seems our love of the game of football has diminished quite a bit. We used to cherish everything about this game at first but it seems that love has died. I think it is also because we are lacking in proper leadership and player passion like before.

Do you remember the time of Stephen Appiah, John Mensah, Sule Muntari and Asamoah Gyan? It is nothing compared to this.

It is very true that the zeal for watching ghana games has diminish totally. The reason I will attributes this to the scandal at Brazil 2014 and that about our GFA boss.

It really disappointing to see our own Football President in that incident. These are the two reasons why i think made our love for watching and following our team went away. Let's hope the current players can bring it back.

Thanks for sharing.
