Manchester United weathered the storm against Tottenham Hotspur as the club made history and a certain phenomenal player called Cristiano Ronaldo made his as well. Manchester United got their 400th Premier League home win and what a way to get it as Cristiano Ronaldo got his 807th career goal as he pulled clear of the nearest rival who stays in 805 goals.

Ronaldo scored a brilliant hat-trick to give Manchester United the win and Harry Kane scored from the penalty spot before Harry Maguire scored an own goal to make up for Tottenham's numbers as the game ended 3-2.

I felt Tottenham's approach to the game was somehow, especially when they played 5 at the back against a United side that most teams would rather have a go at. It took a moment of brilliance from Manchester United to open the scoring after Fred's flick got to Ronaldo and he had all the time on his hands to power a driver shot that flew into the back of the net, leaving Hugo Lloris helpless. It was a classic Ronaldo goal that we have watched over the years and he showed he can still do it again at 37 years of age.

It wasn't long after, Tottenham thought they were back in the game after Ben Davies got the better of De Gea at his near post only to be correctly flagged for offside. It was a composed finish but sadly, it didn't count. Tottenham tried everything to get back into the game and Diogo Dalot denied Eric Dier's effort that was destined for the back of the net with a headed clearance on the line. It would have been Eric Dier's first goal in over 100 games for Tottenham but Dalot defended well.

Tottenham got back in the game finally in the 34th minute after Alex Telles handled the ball in the area. The referee pointed to the spot and Harry Kane stepped up to beat De Gea with pace and precision to level the matters. Harry Kane also set a record of his own as he equalled Wayne Mark Rooney for the most away goals scored.

Ronaldo reminded everyone that he wasn't done as he grabbed his second goal of the game after a clever move from Sancho. Sancho beat the offside trap and cleverly set up Ronaldo who had the easiest of tap in to put United back on track. He has scored just 1 goal in 10 games and here is he, he has gotten 2 goals in just a game and went on to add a further 1 goal. Form is indeed temporary but class is permanent.

Son wasn't in form for this game as he was shockingly slipping on the turf when he is in a good position and he also had his effort flash wide when presented with the chance after Kulusevski found him. All that didn't matter anymore as Harry Maguire bundled Reguilon's cross into his own net to give Tottenham a draw in the 72nd minute.

Speaking of Harry Maguire, his form has been terrible this season which has raised concerns with the fans and they have been calling for his head. He would have been ripped apart had United lost or finished the game at the draw but Ronaldo came to the rescue to give United the 3 points.

Ronaldo had his effort saved brilliantly by Hugo Lloris in the 76th minute but he had no chance of saving again in the 82nd minute after Ronaldo headed home from a corner kick delivery into the box. He fought to reach the ball and connected with it to leave the back of the net shaking with his goal. Hat-trick for Ronaldo and 3 points for Manchester United.

This win doesn't guarantee that Manchester United would finish the season in the top 4 but it is a step in the right direction because a loss would knock United further back on the table especially knowing that Tottenham and Arsenal both have games at hand. It was a victory United craved for and it was good to see they got it even though they didn't play at their best. Sancho was amazing, Rashford was missing as well, Pogba was sloppy, Fred was solid, Maguire was a disaster as well but they still managed to get the 3 points and moved to 4th on the table before Arsenal plays.

He scored a brilliant hat-trick against Tottenham at Old Trafford to take his tally to 807 career goals which is the most in football.

I agree. There is still a lot of work to do for them. I hope they learn valuable lessons from their game with Tottenham and try to work collectively as a force. They will see a more improved team who can face any team on earth.

Working collectively, that's the key... I hope they can.
