The Ballon d'Or Title Race

Hello Football Loving Steemians,

In 2020, the prize for the Ballon d'Or was canceled as a result of the global pandemic which brought the entire world to a near standstill.
Here we are again with football back to as although now not in full with all the great players throwing in their best to win this prestigious individual award. Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been the great contenders for the title for almost 13years now and have won the title 11times in total.

The award is here with us again and we await the player to be given this prize to take over from Messi. Several players are doing marvelously well and deserve this award. Will still be one of the duos?

All the Europe top five leagues that are crucial with other competitions to determining the winner of the prize have been brought to a close with only the UEFA Europa League (Manchester against Villareal) and Champions League (Manchester City Vs Chelsea FC) left to be played. Are those games going to be very deciding factors in the Ballon d'Or winner?

My Players Predictions
The players I see to be of high performance and possibly deserve this season's prize are ;

• Robert Lewandowski: He has had a great season scoring very classy goals. He did perfectly well through the season and scored more goals with his side. He won the Bundesliga and Club World Cup. His side until their exit was the most dangerous and feared in the UCL.

• Kevin De Bruyne: His efforts were of high value in putting Manchester City in the finals of the UCL, winning the English Premier League and Carabao Cup. He scored several goals and made some assists.

• Lionel Messi: Leo was a great contender for the title from the beginning of the season with no other player as closely as he was until his side started dropping from winning some key trophies. Although he was kicked out of the UCL and placed third in La Liga, he won with his team, the Copa del Rey.

• Phil Foden: Manchester City's side has been the favorite since claiming the EPL with ease and reaching the finals of the UCL. Like his teammate De Bruyne, Foden has been instrumental in the squad this season and equally deserves the title. He won the EPL and Carabao Cup and has reached the finals of the UCL.

• Cristiano Ronaldo: Although his side suffered quite a lot before qualifying for the UCL, his individual efforts have been classy this season. He won the Super Copa Italiana and placed fourth in Serie A.

• Romelu Lukaku: Won the Serie with Inter away before the last game. He has scored several goals and has gotten greater form this season.

• Bruno Fernandes: Placed second in the EPL with Manchester United. In his second season at United, Bruno has been performing very well and was a great decider in United's wins. He has won with his team a spot in the Europa League finals.
