Football as has always been my stance is the greatest of all sports. The wins, losses, debates, cheering by fans, the competitiveness and skills of players make it more enjoying. It is an ever revolving game with rules, players and coaches changing both as individuals and style of play. Football in the 90s was great but is now greater and better.

The game has experienced great men in the likes of Diego Maradona, Del Piero, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Raul, Van Der Sar, Oppong Weah, Stephen Appiah and several others who are no more in the playing scene.

But as earlier said, the game is ever revolving and when one is out, another takes over. With these great men of our beautiful game leaving the scene, we have had great and even greater men replacing them.

Now you can't talk sport and football by leaving out Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jnr., Luis Suarez, and several gents amd women improving daily our game.
Yes women! The game is not only limited to men but women and children alike neither is it race, tradition, religion, or country bias. Mia Hamm, Christine, Sinclair, Marta and Nadine are all evidence that the game is for all genders, age groups and race.

Notwithstanding the beauty, entertainment, health, unity and debates associated with the game, one has to work hard to make it best as has always been better.

All these men and women didn't just wake up to be great. No! No country was established in a single day. They went through challenges, persevered and worked hard to atain such levels and to make football as beautiful as it is now.
The game is so beautiful that football men and women prefer watching it yhan been with their wives and husbands respectively.

Yes the game is lucrative but you are to play for the beauty and passion but not always about the money. One has to build him/herself to a greater standard to make football pleasing to the fans. The money follows when the football loving fans are entertained.

To be a great footballer, one has to first develop a great passion for the game. Loving the game is key to becoming successful than looking to gain money. We gain hearts in football and not money.

The secomd thing to consider in becoming a great footballer is by learning the rules of the game. Football as a game has several rules as does other games. It has got it own rules for players, coaches, officials, staff, and fans alike. One has to know the rules of the game to become successful.

The next is to practice always. The saying, 'Practice makes perfect' holds very much in becoming a great footballer. Christiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest to ever play the ball is well known for his seriousness in his training. One must take training serious and also get a good trainer in his area of play.

Another is personal hygiene. One has to keep watch of his diet, health and sleep. This will help build oneself for the game and get call ups to greater teams like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Juventus and the like.

Also, although it is said the game is for entertainment and concentration shouldn't be on the money, it is also a profession and work one do to earn. One has to get an expect in money and contract management to himself enough money even as he wntertains the fans.

Before I note down the last point, one has to identify his position of play. To be successful in football, you have to identify where you can play well and train oneself in that regard.

Finally, one must be serious when playing in any game and display his abilities. Dribbling, passing, shots, tackles and speed all should be on point and these sits on training.

With a keen consideration for these points and several other personal things, I believe one will be successful in football and we will continue to have the likes of Messi and Ronaldo in our game.
