Greetings everyone. I am very glad to be here once again and I see the work everybody here is doing to help this community grow. Thanks to @njaywan and all the others for the efforts you put in to keep the community going. I would like to share with you a post about an interesting tournament played today, having being a holiday.

Tuesday, July 20 is a holiday because our Muslim brethrens are celebrating Eid-ul-Adha. A holiday means no class too so quickly, a number of hostels around organized a football tournament to celebrate the holiday and cool off our heads. Participating teams contributed some monies aimed at buying something as the prize for the winners. The prize for this tournament was a trophy accompanied with a "goat"- APONKYE CUP literally meaning THE GOAT CUP.

As early as 7:00am about 16 teams had registered and at 7:15 the first match had began.
Many brilliant players came to exhibit great skill and talent making the tournament very competitive and beautiful to watch.

My team won their first 2 matches, only to draw the third and lose on penalties. We played our all but our competition was tougher and our opponent deserved the win because they were 1:0 down at first half. 15 minutes into the second half they got 2 early goals to go in front and we had a late equalizer which took the game to penalities where it ended 5:3.

Sad😔 and angry😠 me after we were kicked out

We stayed back to watch the remaining games as we saw the team that took us out of the competition win their way to the finals and go home with the trophy and "goat". It was nice to watch and that tells you they were a stronger team than we were.

In solidarity and for the love of the game we joined them celebrate the win and it was a happy ending for everybody.
Football is indeed a game that unites and you should see how teams that were strong rivals and how they badly wanted a win in their games later came together to celebrate one common victory.
