This season's La Liga is promising to be exciting as the previous years. Looking at the talents the big 3 clubs in Spain have added to their squad, you can boldly say this season's La Liga will be worth following. In this post, I will want to talk about the most likely team to win the La Liga and my focus will be on the top 3 clubs namely; Barcelona, Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid.

Each of these 3 clubs are favorite for the trophy till the real deal starts. Looking at Athletico Madrid's set up, you cannot easily write them off. They are the current champions of La Liga and they would want to retain it for another season. Looking at the players they have brought on board, you can't overlook them when the La Liga is concerned. The likes of Rodrigo de Paul whom they signed from udinesse just won the Copa America with Argentina and he was very integral in Argentina's quest to win the Copa America. He is very versatile, he can play as a Defensive midfielder or as an attacking midfielder. He will bring alot of creativity to the Athletico's midfield and he can get you close to 8 or 9 goals a season which I think is not bad for a midfielder. They also have one of the best goalkeepers in today's football in the person of Oblak who happens to be the best player in the just ended La Liga season. In a league where there are the likes of Griezman, Messi, Modric etc and a keeper happens to win the best player should tell you something about that goalkeeper. Athletico has a very good defensive set up which was one of the tool that helped them claimed the league last season. There is a saying that goes like, goals win you matches but defense wins you trophies. No wonder they have become one of football power houses in recent years. Looking at their attackers, you can mention Suarez who on anyday can win you matches and is very prolific. Suarez was very crucial on their quest to winning the league last season and with him still there, I tip Athletico as the top most favorite for the league.

Real Madrid are the grand masters of the league, they appear to be favorite each season but the departure of key player like Ramos, I doubt so. Thou they have signed Alaba who is not much different from Segio Ramos, but there are certain things Ramos has added to his game that Alaba lacks and one of it is goals. The Real Madrid attack would have been more dangerous if Hazard was consistent but here is the case it has been from one injury to another. Hazard is a threat provided he is 100% fit but here is the case he has been inconsistent since his arrival last two seasons ago. Hence, the only prolific attacker Madrid can count on is Karim Benzema who can also give you 20-25 goals a season with some assists. The fact here is that, you cannot rely on only one player to win you a league. Thou they have options like Vinicious, Asensio, Rodrigo etc. These are all young players who needs more experience before they can win you the Laliga. Vinicious has been given so many opportunities but has still not live up to expectation. He is very poor infront of goal, it has been one miss to another. Rodrigo is young player with a great future and needs to learn alot before he can break through the Madrid squad. Asensio has not been fit for the past 2 seasons or so and it has been injuries upon injuries.

The only team I tip to give Athletico competition is Barcelona. When you have Messi on your team, you already have an upper hand over the opponent. Barcelona has also brought in some experienced and young players to the team. The likes of Aguero who is deadly infront of goal and has played in La Liga before, Memphis who will give you options upfront and the young centre back Eric Garcia who has gone through the Guardiola system in Manchester City. The only thing that can prevent Barcelona from winning the La Liga is their defense. For the past 2 seasons Barcelona's defence has been very poor. If not, who will think that a keeper of Stergen's caliber has never been named best keeper of La Liga. Other than the defense, Barcelona can boast of the best midfield and attack in La Liga right now. When it comes to midfield, they can talk about the highly rated Pedri and De jong and the experienced Sergio. They have attacking options like Griezmann, Dembele, Ansu Fati, Aguero, Messi among others.

From the above statistics I have given about the top 3 La Liga clubs, I predict Athletico Madrid will finish the 2021/2022 La Liga season as the winners, followed by Barcelona and Real Madrid in that other.
