Liverpool With The Advantage.

The title race has been blown open and it's no longer Manchester City with the advantage. Yes, points on the table count more than points not gained yet, as many would have pointed out but if by any chance, Liverpool wins their 2 outstanding games then they would be 2 points ahead of Manchester City.

This title race has toyed with our emotions every now and then with Chelsea initially running away with the title before a series of bad results knocked them off their strides. Manchester City took charge and led for a long period of time with huge margins before a series of unpleasant results cut their lead at the top of the table. Now, Liverpool has the chance to get ahead with 2 points, provided they win their outstanding games.

The title would be decided when both teams meet but before then, Liverpool need to navigate first by playing a rejuvenated Arsenal and if Liverpool can get the 3 points there, then they are well on the way. Manchester City fans would keep an eye on that game just as Liverpool fans kept their eyes on Manchester City v Crystal Palace game where City fired blank despite dominating the major parts of the game.

Patrick Vieira set up his men so well to frustrate Pep Guardiola and his men. I would say he did that to perfection even though City were unlucky for most of the match as they came so close to breaking the deadlock but it wasn't meant to be. Cancelo's long-range strike struck the upright with Bernardo Silva steering his goalmouth attempt wide. Bernardo Silva also missed another attempt as he hit the ball too much after he attempted to round off the goalkeeper. Kevin De Bruyne was also frustrated as the goalkeeper denied him.

Crystal Palace could have won the game also with their amazing counter-attacking football but they lacked the finishing at the other end too. It was a game with so much promise and nothing was certain. Everyone knew City would be troubled by Palace due to how impressive Palace has been this season but no one knew that with the firepower available to City, it still won't be enough for them to get the 3 points while they both settled for 0-0 finish.

It was another frustrating day in the office for Pep Guardiola and he would only hope that Arsenal can stop Liverpool in their stride and that's another cracker of a match to watch out for.

Liverpool has their destiny in their own hands and they would do well to give their all so as to make their encounter with City a 6 pointer. The pressure is now on Liverpool because they have been playing catch up before and the pressure would be different now because the reality of being at the top would hit them and this is how we would know if they are made of champions or not.

This is why we love the Premier League, nothing is certain and I can't wait to see how all these matches would play out and who would be the last man standing. For now, Manchester City tops the table with 4 points, Liverpool has 2 games more to play and Liverpool has the advantage IF they win their outstanding games as they would go 2 points clear.
