My humble greetings to everyone here at this time of the day. It's a great privilege to jump on this contest. Massive thanks to @marcybetancourt for organizing this superb contest.
Without no further ado, I will jump in fully and discuss a few things about my country's national team.
A Brief History of the Nigeria National Team
It was established that the Nigeria National Team played other colonies in a series of unofficial games since 1930s and noted that team later played it's official game in the year 1949, while still under the British colonization. The first official game was a success after a 2 - 0 win over Sierra Leone at Freetown, Sierra Leone; 8 October 1949.
This huge victory gave the national side the confidence of doing exceedingly great in the game of football.
The team's home stadium is Moshood Abiola National Stadium and the team is being managed by Gernot Rohr. While the current FIFA ranking the team hold on to is 35th.

The Success Story
The team started their official journey of football game with a huge success and this geared them up to even do better in subsequent games. Few of the important victories the national side enjoyed will be discussed in this section.
It was established that the team first ever official game was played against the rival Sierra Leone and ended in a 2 - 0 victory for the Nigeria National team.
Game played at; Freetown, Sierra Leone (8 October 1949)Also established that the team biggest win was against Dahomy which ended at 10 - 1 scoreline.
Game played at; Lagos, Nigeria (28 November 1959)
Team Achievements
They are three-time Africa Cup of Nations winners, with their most recent title in 2013, after defeating Burkina Faso in the final.
The team won the Atlanta 1996 Olympics after beating the Argentina senior side to claim the gold medal.
Best FIFA ranking was 5th in 1994

The national side has participated 6 times ( first in 1994) and successfully reach the round of 16 in 1994, 1998 and 2014.African Cup of Nations
The national side have participated 18 times ( first in 1963) and won the 1980, 1994 and 2013 editions.African Nations Championship
The national side has participated 3 times ( first in 2014) and ended up as a runner up in 2018.WAFU NATIONS CUP
The national side has participated 3 times ( first in 2010) and won the 2010 edition.CONFEDERATIONS CUP
The national side has participated 2 times ( first in 1995) and ended up at fourth position in 1995.

Future Expectation
I believe the team have what it takes to qualify for the next world cup. We have got the players, power, agility, supporters and overall quality to perform wonderfully in the next world competitions. The team only need to be consistent and more focused to unlock more achievements.

Hello @fredquantum. I loved your way of telling the story and the achievements of the Nigerian National Team.
Undoubtedly, that victory showed a Nigerian team capable of achieving great feats.
The championships and the cups that the team has achieved speak for themselves. That's why they have a good world ranking today.
All of us who love football will never forget when Nigeria won the 1996 Olympic Games and won the Gold Medal.
Great final reflection! We all hope to see a Nigerian team in the next World Cup.
