England's Right Back Shortage - Injury to Trent Alexander-Arnold

It was announced yesterday that Trent Alexander Arnold will miss Euro 2020 with a thigh injury.

He worked very hard to get into the squad and will be upset to miss out. This leaves just Kyle Walker, Reece James and Kieran Trippier to select as right back that will have Gareth Southgate very worried.

I do not think that Gareth Southgate really understands how to pick a squad for a major championship and when questioned why he had 4 right backs, he answered:

"...If I could have picked a fifth or sixth right back I would have done..."

He could have picked Aaron Wan-Bissaka, James Justin or the world class canary, Max Aarons so I think Gareth was lying a little bit.
