Contest Entry On Why the Next World Cup should be Hosted in My Country, Ghana

Greetings everyone, I am much honored to make my entry once again to a creative contest organized by our hardworking admin @njaywan. Before starting my post I will like say a congratulations to the winners of the last contest.

This week, we are have been tasked to make a post on Why the next world cup should be hosted in our various countries.

INTRODUCTION

A world cup tournament is a competition organized by the Federation International of Football Association (FIFA) which see the senior members of national teams all around the world coming together to compete for a trophy. That is, in this tournament, the various countries that take part go through series of matches called the qualifiers before granted the permission to take part in the tournament itself. The tournament is been hosted by country to country every time it is going to take place.

REQUIREMENTS BY FIFA TO BE ABLE TO HOST A WORLD CUP

According to FIFA who are the organizers of the world cup tournament, there are requirements before a country will be fit to host a world cup.

• The Number and capacity of Stadiums in the country: it is required upon the host country to have stadiums that can accommodate at least 40,000 people to 80,000 people depending on the match played. It is also required for the stadiums to be found across the country to be hosted. That is, it shouldn’t be found in only the capital towns or city of the country but at least nationwide. Additionally, there should be availability of smaller of stadiums for the training site of various players.

• Transportation: This is a very key requirement by FIFA to the host country. Why is it so? The travelling of players, supporters, business individuals, coaches and so on should be made at ease with the making sure there are airports in most parts of the country. That is, conveying of players and other dignitaries shouldn’t be a thing that will take days to happen. This will slow down the progress of the tournament. Therefore availability of airports in most parts of the country is needed to host a world cup.

• Accommodation: Since this tournament will be seeing a lot of outsiders trooping in the host country, there is need for available places to accommodate these visitors. Therefore is required on the host country to have in and around the country more than 72 hotels. Guest houses, lodges, and so on should also be at abundance by the host country. It shouldn’t be a situation where these accommodation facilities been centered at one town but rather across the country

WHY GHANA SHOULD HOST THE NEXT WORLD CUP

From the above requirements of the organizers of the world cup tournaments, I hereby produce proves to showcase why my country Ghana to host the next world cup.
• My country Ghana has about 10 standard stadiums with each having a capacity of more than 10,000 which is more than the required number of FIFA. These stadiums are distributed all over the country. That is, from the south down to the north, the coastal areas the western side. The stadiums are tabulated below with their capacity and their respective regions.

Just to mention a few, we have other smaller stadiums which can be used as a park for the training of the footballers from other countries. Also, there are individual local teams with smaller training fields that can be used as training grounds for the footballers.

• The second requirement of the organizers of the world cup tournament is Transportation. Once again my country Ghana has met this requirement. This is because my country Ghana has five airports with two of them been international. That is across the country, there are transportation means by air to various regions in my country. In this case, the transportation of players and officials of the tournament wouldn’t be a problem. The airports found in my country are shown below with their various pictures.

• The last but not the least requirement of the Federation International of Football Authority (FIFA) is accommodation. Wow! With this, my country Ghana is best known for its hospitable facilities. There are about 2,723 hotels in Ghana with a good number of them been 4 stars hotels. These hotels can been found all over the country. From up north to down south, through the coastal areas to the western and eastern parts. The hotels also provides a good number of facilities which are relaxing and affordable. With this, Ghana will be able to accommodate all visitors who will be trooping in for the tournament purposes.

With my country been able to meet the requirements of FIFA to be able to host a world cup tournament. I will like to through more light on the benefits of hosting a world cup which is also another reason why Ghana should host the next world cup.

1. Hosting a world cup tournament serves as a source of income to the government through the tourism industry. This is because, when visitors from the outside world cup to witness the various matches that are going to be played. They turn to have a look at the various tourist sites in the country thereby boosting the tourism and also generating income to the government. 1. In addition, it serves as a source of revenue to small scale business owners such as hotel managers, and so on. That is, those involved in various trades in regions in which football matches will be held in it will give them the opportunity to make more sales as a result of the increment of the population.
2. Also, hosting a football match in a country will help expose the particular country to the outside world. There are people who don’t know the existence of certain countries. The same way some people might have not heard of Ghana, so hosting the next world cup will help put the name of Ghana to a higher level there by increasing the chances for our development.
3. Last but not least, the young talents that we have in various parts of the country will be able to meet their mentors and role models in football. Some might even get the chance to meet them physically and talk with them. Lucky people like this can help improve their football career by taking them to the next level. This will go a long way to help improve the legends we have in football and the sports industry.

This and many more are the reason why Ghana my beautiful country should host the next world cup.

CONCLUSION

In a nut shell, I hope my points stated concerning reasons why Ghana my country should host the next world cup is interesting enough to read through. I hope my contest entry will be considered.
