Champions League last 16 first leg

Four round of 16 matches in the 2021-2022 Champions League first leg have been held. Representatives of France, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and the Reds Liverpool and Manchester City won. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich were held to a draw by hosts RB Salzburg with a score of 1-1.
In the big match, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Real Madrid in a match that took place at the Parc des Princes, Paris on Wednesday (16/2/2022). PSG won by a narrow score 1-0 through a single goal scored by Kylian Mbappe in the final minute of the match. The PSG vs Real Madrid match was marked by the failure of striker Lionel Messi to score a goal through a penalty kick which was saved by goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois.
Manchester City, who traveled to Sporting CP headquarters, Estadio Jose Alvalade, Wednesday (16/2/2022) won a landslide victory over the hosts with a score of 5-0. Pep Guardiola's men won with goals from Riyad Mahrez (7'), Bernardo Silva (17' and 44'), Phil Foden (32'). Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling's goal in the second half completed the Citizens' victory in the 58th minute.
Another big match which took place at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, Liverpool won a valuable victory in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 after overthrowing host Inter Milan with a score of 2-0, on Thursday (17/2/2022). Liverpool's two winning goals were created in the second half through Roberto Firmino in the 75th minute and Mohamed Salah's goal in the 83rd minute.
Meanwhile, in the match which took place at the headquarters of RB Salzburg, Red Bull Arena, Bayern Munich was held to a draw by the hosts with a score of 1-1. RB Salzburg was able to take the lead through Chukwubuike Adamu's goal in the 21st minute. Bayern Munich, who appeared to dominate the game, kept trying to score a goal back. Bayern Munich's efforts only paid off after Kingsley Coman scored in the 90th minute.
