Hey guys, it's great to be part of another contest brought up by this noble community.
This week's @worldoffootball contest is about giving the reasons for you thinking or wishing the next world cup should be hosted in your country.

INTRODUCTION

I'm a citizen of Ghana and I can't be prouder than I am right now typing this post. Even though, Ghana as developing nation lacks many things when it comes to development but about things concerning our favourite game, we don't joke or play with it. The country really loves soccer. It's like, almost 90% of the people here in Ghana especially the youth love soccer, or at least has a team he or she supports be it an European team or just one of these local ones.

My country has hosted a lesser competition than the world cup but with what went on during those times, I can boldly say we can and should host the upcoming world cup.
Ghana hosted the 2008 AFCON which ended with Egypt winning the cup; everything was in order during the competition.

I would like to make some points here and why the world cup should be hosted here,

First and foremost, Ghana is a very peaceful country as we all know unlike other chaotic nations. I know before a nation is considered to host the world cup, this is one thing(if not the first) FIFA or the board in charge of it looks at. It can be promised that the safety and well being of supporters or travelers will be much taken care of. Ghana has security personnel who are good at their job and will do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of citizens and travelers just in case something bad happens which is almost impossible anyway.

Moreover, Ghana is already a country tourists really cherish trooping in and out of and the world cup will make it even better. There will be no boredom whatsoever amongst the travelers because aside watching the soccer matches of the various nations, they can go on their own trips to the many tourist sites available in the country to relax and also have some fun.
Some of the tourist places areas follows.

  • The Kakum National Park
This is one of the best tourist sites in the country. Tourists will get the chance to explore the greens(vegetation) of the land and also have fun walking on those swaying and quite scary canopy walkway. Tourists will also get a chance to visit the museum of the park and learn some history of this wonderful place.

There is also the Cape Coast castle, Aburi Gardens, Mole national park and other interesting places tourists can go to and explore the natural beauty of the land and also learn about our rich heritage and some shocking histories.

In addition to all these, Ghana also possesses some magical and fantastic hotels or rest houses which can habor a huge number of people who have travelled from far. Most of the time, foreigners have this misconception about the living style of Africans, especially when it comes to shelter(they usually think we live in mud houses which is completely hilarious to the highest order).
Ghana has many wonderful and first class hotels or places of rest and relaxation wouldn't be a problem for travelers.
Some of the hotels are;

  • Kempinski hotel
  • Labadi beach hotel
  • Movenpick Ambassador Hotel
There are numerous rest places which you can look up. These are one of the best and that's just for the Greater Accra side. There are a great number of hotels in other regions too. Tourists will really love it there and will wish they stay forever.

Lastly, as we already know, the games are going to be played on fields or pitches. One might think "what better stadiums do you even have to be worthy of hosting a world cup?".
Yeah well, we do have some great stadiums with good pitches which won't give players a problem.
They're also big which means they can really contain a lot of people at time.
Here are some of the stadiums and their capacities

As we can see, we have some good stadiums too.

CONCLUSION

To conclude, I think my country has all that it takes to also host a world cup just like Russia, or Qatar or any of the great and developed nations you can think of. I'm just hoping this happens one day and it will really be a dream come true.
It won't only benefit travelers alone but the natives or people living here too. Friendships will be created amongst nations, businesses will boom for some people and the government too. It will also give us the chance to teach the foreigners our culture and all the stuff they've been wrongly informed or taught.
