#CLUB75 - WEEKEND MATCH REVIEW | WATFORD VS MAN UNITED - WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?

in World Of Football ⚽3 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone, hope you are good.

The Vicarage Road stadium was filled with both enormous joy and huge disappointment depending on who you asked. This is because, Manchester United had lost another very important fixture yet again thereby failing to move up the ranks.

Truth be told, the entire match was simply dominated by Watford and they took control from the very beginning. In fact, while watching the match I couldn't help but notice that United looked as if they hadn't trained in such a long time. The players couldn't complete simple passes and it was as if they came with the sole purpose of defending from the very beginning.

If you look at the first half of the match, Watford dominated throughout. I think Man united was very lucky to even get away with a 2-0 defeat. If it hadn't been for the brilliance of David De Gea, it could have been much worse.

And although they had a good amount of possession on the pitch, they couldn't make any decisive moves with the ball with intent while on the ball. At the start, I could only see Matic making some good moves in the midfield.

However, the likes of Bruno Fernandez, Lindelof, Maguire, Sancho and Rashford were very off color. We should have seen a much better performance from them.

In the second half, Donny Van De Beek came in and that was quite a game changer looking at the energy he brought to the pitch. I wonder why Ole still keeps him on the bench.

Looking at the way Manchester United played, I will be very difficult to see any other manager come and restructure the team into a whole unit.

But I think there is still hope for them looking at the kind of squad they possess. It is going to be interesting to see how the future of this team plays out.

Thank you.
