MY Favourite Football Memory

Football is always filled with happy memories which at times is often difficult to choose which is the most unforgettable and which is our favourite.

But then for the sake of this contest and a true fan of football and my beloved Los Blancos, the royal whites of Madrid in Real Madrid.

Ofcourse my unforgettable match was one of their finals match in the champions league on their way to winning it 3 times straight.

Now out of their three finals against Athletic Madrid 2016, Juventus 2017, Liverpool 2018 of which they were winners in all three. My favourite and most unforgetable which is also my most unforgettable football match ever was the final between them and juventus in 2017.

The Hype
Ofcourse before the game they were much hype on the juventus squad and rightly so because indeed they were on fire. And possess one of the best backline then led by Bonucci and Chiellini which was their backbone and reason for much success that year. A very disciplined defenders.

Infact everyone in the football world then knows that juventus were hot not that they were demolishing clubs with big scorelines but their defence i think was the major reason for their success. A defence that locked out one of the most dangerous frontline ever assembled famously known as MSN (Messi, Squarez and Neymar) for 180 minutes of regular time by beating barcelona on their way to finals without conceding a single goal. Infact they kept them silent that in one leg of their fixture Lionel messi aguably the best player of all time could not register a single shot on target infact their defence was so good that on their way to finals from the group stage level to the semi-final they conceded a total of 3goals, and impressive record indeed. Any frontline then dread meeting Bonucci and Chiellini.

History Not On Our Side
Another thing that makes this final unforgettable to me was the fact that history was not on Madrid side, having previously won the competition the previous year.

According to history before then no club ever in the history of the renowed edition of the Uefa Champions League has sucessfully defended the cup before. Adding that Madrid were going to meet a much inform Juventus.

Ofcourse almost everyone in the football world then who was not a true fan of Los Blancos thought they won't be winning this one, it makes perfect sense. Juventus were in inform, boast of the best squad then, destroying barcelona on their way to the final, conceding only 3 goals on the way to the final, the Bonucci and Chiellini factor and the fact that history was against Madrid which means they had history on there side.

What Everyone Failed To Account For
Well while everyone was busy hyping juventus and how history was on their side they didn't account or they fail to see the fact that Madrid are destined for that Champions league, that they are there to make history.

Eveyone forgot that Madrid also has some fact in history with them, that anytime they win a champions league semi-final or make it to the final of the Champions league they always win the cup, Always.

The Ronaldo Factor
Another thing that also failed to account for was they quickly forgot who Cristiano Ronaldo was the man meant for big moment. They forgot that Ronaldo and Real madrid were like a match made in heaven.

Ronaldo aguably the best player of his generation and the greatest player of all time(GOAT) was with Madrid.

The Match
Yes as a Madrid fan i supported them before thos match to win but i must confess when the match was about to start, i tell you i did have a moment of doubt because in the viewing centre where i went to watch this match almost everyone was supporting juventus and offcourse i was aware of the threat posed by Juve.

People said all manner of things. Some said a defence that Messi, Neymar and Squarez cannot break who is Real madrid or Ronaldo to break it. I remember this words vividly.

Ofcourse the match started and all it took was 20mins for that man yes the "Goat" to open the scoring. Something the famous MSN can't do in 180 mins it took Ronaldo just 19-20mins to do so.

At that moment my conviction was strengthen that Madrid was about to make history that night, though a moment of fear entered when Manzukic equalised in the 27th mins. Before as the game grew so does my confidence because i know what madrid were capable of doing. Ronaldo's first goal shows that the defence was not really solid for the kind of offense i know Madrid can launch. And truely i was right.

The first half ended 1-1 draw and the second half started. It took till 61 mins for a Casemiro outside the 18 flashing to find the back of the net restoring Madrid lead. But the haters still held on a hope. But not for long 3 mins later around the 64th mins, yes that man we all know Cristiano Ronaldo struck again to give madrid a good lead in 3-1.

Yes in that moment it was clear for all who wants to hear that my beloved Madrid will be making history that night. Ofcourse a final of 3-1 lead is a victory but that scoreline was not all that bad. Madrid wanted to set the record straight, to clear the doubt in everybody's mind. During the 90th minute Asensio put the icing on the cake to give made a scoreline victory of 4-1 over the Italian giants Juventus.

Indeed i tell you, as madrid lifted that cup it was as if i was lifting it with them, yes they silenced all their critics who all went home speechless. I tell you they had no excuse to give and for those who were honest and true football fans they admitted that madrid was wonderful and Ronaldo was unstoppable. Yes he can't be stopped from scoring not even by the famous Buffon, Bonucci and Chiellini.

Yes juventus might have conceded only 3 goals to the final but you could make the case that they needed to because they were going to concede 4 in the finals more than they conceded in 12 matches.

Indeed the match was a delight to me, yes i have many matches but none was as special as this it was as if Madrid did the impossible against everybody's belief apart from the few that stood by them which i was among. They shocked the football world. A spoiler for all their critics.

I don't think i can ever forget that moment it will always be on my mind as my most unforgettable moment in football hostory unless something as wonderful to me were to rewrite that.
