The Blues are facing a tough time with maintaining their title run contention due to a lack of goals. That isn't the only problem. Chelsea currently has 7 cases of Covid-19 recorded with 6 players out on injuries for weeks, lastest amongst them is Reece James and Andreas Christensen during the Brighton game which ended in a disappointing draw. James has a hamstring problem and Christensen dealing with back pain.

As It Stands

Chelsea has more woes during the upcoming transfer window as key defenders all have contracts set to expire at the end of the season. The key defenders, Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Thiago Silva all are yet to agree on a new contract signing with the club. Amongst these Thiago Silva and Azipilicueta are the ones the club is optimistic about signing a new contract.

Rudiger has already refused two salary proposals from the club, the lastest one being a weekly salary of about £140,000. Rudiger still wants double to equal that of the club's top earners. With a lot of offers from great clubs, Real Madrid is currently in the led for the defender.

Andreas Christensen would have loved to stay at and play at Stamford bridge but he feels less valued at the club and he anticipates being among the club's low earners. Reports claim that he is now in good stands in joining Barcelona once his contract expires and is not keen on signing a new contract at Chelsea.

Possible Out Transfers

The upcoming transfer window sees Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley likely to be moving out as Chelsea is set to receive offers for his move. AC Milan is keen on receiving Malang Sarr on a loan deal despite the player's low performance at Chelsea. It stands that Chiwell's injury among other injuries is the only stumbling block holding back the midfielder.

Possible In Transfers

Chelsea is likely to go for all-time favorite Jules Kounde from Sevilla who is estimated to cost around £68m for a release clause in the upcoming transfer window. Chelsea's request to recall Emerson Palmieri on loan at Lyon has already been turned down as Chelsea's wing-back crisis continues. Everton player Lucas Digne is also a possible target for Chelsea on a loan deal but the club is looking to rather part ways with the player as issues with manager Rafa Benitez ensues. Barcelona full-back Sergino Dest is another target for the club's RB position. Nicolas Tagliafico of Ajax is also a possible target for the left-back position.

As the year ends, Chelsea lies 8 points behind Man City and Thomas Tuchel has already outed his frustration of not being able to continue the title race with things going against the clubs in turns of huge injuries and covid-19 cases.

Happy New Year To You All In Advance

You didn't talk about the possibility of Lukaku leaving!!

Anyway thanks for sharing and I wish you all the best so that you can make some profit to cancel out the loss for 2021 season.

He just showed his displeasure about Tuchel's tactics and how he enjoyed at Inter. Fans have already called on him to apologise for saying so and I don't think he's leaving anytime soon unless he falls out of Tuchel's favor

Let's hope so.

I think Chelsea also emphasised on the fact that he’s not going to be for sale, either in this January or any others; according to Fabrizio Romano.

is painful how our fight for the league is going through this way,,, but I trust Chelsea to bounce back

Let's hope so

Tagliafico has been link to Chelsea even before they bought Ben Chilwell, he’s good but I think Lucas Digne is a good and proven Premier League player just playing the wrong team. He looks like the best option for the Blues.

True, but sadly he's only wanted on loan for now as reported
