My favorite role in football is the goalkeeper for me. In my opinion, the goalkeeper is the backbone of a team. No matter how good you have two people, if you want your position to result in a goal, you will have a lot of goals in your own goal as much as you cannot stop the ball. In my opinion, the goalkeeper has no chance to make mistakes, a striker is a defender or the midfield has the luxury of making mistakes maybe because when he makes a mistake another friend can help him and save the situation. But things are changing with the goalkeeper, even a small mistake can be bad for the team. Because when the goalkeeper makes a mistake, time returns to this team as a goal and you can lose. So I'm going to tell you a little bit about the goalkeeper, a little bit of his duties and what he should have.

What are the goals of the goalkeeper?
The goalkeeper is a player with different characteristics from the other players who play behind the football team. Its main task is to prevent the ball from entering the goal. A good goalkeeper is very important to the team. The goalkeeper with insufficient qualifications negates all the efforts of his teammates, causing a bad result. The goalkeeper's manual handling field is not only inside the goal area, but is limited by the penalty area.
In today's modern football, the goalkeeper is the person who initiates the offensive of his team outside of his defensive role. For this reason, he is now called the second Libero. The goalkeeper's position is advantageous. Because he can see the whole field, so he helps his team's defense.
The qualities required for a goalkeeper are:

1. Physical structure must be suitable for goalkeeping, its height must be at least 1.80 meters.
2. It should be sufficient in terms of speed and quickness.
3. Must like to work and be persistent.
4. Its psychological structure should be sound.
5. Must have the ability to make decisions.
6. It should be rational, courageous.
7. He / she should read the game well, and he / she should manage the defense in front of him / her.
8. Must be intelligent and have a sense of intuition.
9. Must have the ability to concentrate quickly.
10. Leadership qualification.
    Apart from these, the other important features of the goalkeeper are their hands and height.
    Hands: The skill of holding the ball is the most critical point of the goalkeeper. Although the goalkeeper's hand size is not particularly important, the wider hand always provides an advantage. The hands and wrists that serve as pillows and support for hard shots must always be strong (Yıldız 1994). For the goalkeeper to control the ball, hands and fingers must grasp the ball. While the fingers are grasping the ball, the thumbs of the hands are in a support position behind the ball. The skill of holding the balls should be developed with different exercises.
    Height: The goalkeeper must be large and agile. The ideal goalkeeper height is 180–185 centimeters. The body weight of the goalkeeper must be proportional to his height. The big half goalkeepers are heavy in sudden movements, and the weak goalkeepers are ineffective in the bilateral struggles.
    Many more features are sought in the goalkeeper besides physical features. But not every person can have all the qualities otherwise everyone would be good goalkeepers.
