Greetings to everyone.

It is yet another great day for us and another lovely football contest to participate in. Before I proceed, I will like to say a very big thank you to @njaywan for the good work he has been doing. He makes this community interesting anytime he organize a contest for us, the football lovers to take part in and share our ideas about the game.

Although it is not everyone that takes part wins and get the reward but all the same we still give this community our best just to make the community an outstanding one. Bravo to all the participants of the just ended contest and congratulations to all the winners for their marvelous job.

This time around we have been given the opportunity to talk about our favorite role in the game (soccer) and as we all know there are several roles when it comes to soccer, it is not just about the players playing on the pitch but so many different roles which are equally important and also add up to make the game complete. As an individual and a football lover we all have interest in some of these roles that make up a football club. Some of this roles are;

Players

Club manager

Club president

Referee

Linesman

Scout and many more.

But among all the above mentioned roles, my favorite role which I would like to be in the game is a club manager.

My Favorite Role In Football
I would like to play the role of a manager in football because that is my favorite role when it comes to football. Although I do play football but I love the coaching role so much. Many people don’t consider the manager role when it comes to the game but it is the manager who carries the greatest responsibilities in the club, from the beginning of the season till the end of the season.

His impact on the team is countless, without a manager a team can’t operate. The manager serves as an intermediate between the players and the club authority. If a team is progressing the credit is given to the players for their hard work and not the manager for his good selection of players for matches and his tactical influence on the players play but when the team is retrogressing the blame is put only on the manager for his poor performance.

This should tell you how the managers role in football is essential. The manager carries the entire team on his shoulders and lead them to the objectives of the club for that particular season.

A football manager is someone who has the authority of doing so many things like; signing new players, signing new members to the team, selling players, promoting players from the junior to the senior team etc. which will suit his tactics and his dream team as well.

Being a football manager does not mean you need to have a certificate before you can be qualified to be one. Top managers do tend to have been football players when they were at their youthful ages, although they might have not been the best players by their time. Pep Guardiola for instance didn’t have a sports degree and spent most of his playing career at FC Barcelona, he was a good player though but he was never thought of becoming a world class manager one day.

Off course getting a sports degree is a possible route to take to get the job as a manager, but as time goes on, it is more likely to be using the relevant experience you had about football. Most people do not know the difference between a coach and a club manager, so they mix them up. You can see someone referring to a manager as a coach which is not suppose to be so. People frequently use these two terms but interchangeably.

Difference Between A Manager And A Coach

A club manager is part of a football team who is responsible for running and functioning the team. He has a complete authority for choosing his supporting staff members alongside with the signing of new players to the team if necessary but a coach is someone who is responsible for training players in their respective positions just to make sure he put his team in a good form for matches.

What It Takes To Be A Football Manager
It is a dream of becoming a football manager for many expecially me. Many of us have to show it out through simulations and virtually taking team on football games.

To be a football manager you must be physically, mentally and emotionally strong. One may not be a good manager if he/she is not fit and mentally capable. A football manager needs to be good at communication and has a commanding presence as well.

Gaining experience in the game perhaps is the most important part of being a manager. To get recognized as a coach in the football field, you must have an experience about the game. If you have picked football management as a potential career, you need to start working towards that and get your first couple of coaching badges accomplished as soon as possible and get somewhere to apply what you have learned.

Experience is needed to apply for paid managing roles, and it is also a great way to meet new people in life. It might be a chance to build relationships that can help you out in the future. Even getting the chance to see how training sessions of some clubs go, helps in building your experience about the game and build relationships with people.

Many people don't consider a manager when it comes to football forgetting that he is the one responsible for making the team a better club or a worse club. A manager has so many things to do when it comes to organizing the team to meet the demands of the club for that particular season. A football manager responsibilities In a professional football club includes the following;

1. He serves as the contact between the team and the club.

2. He also motivates players before, during and after a football match.

3. Picking the team of players for a particular matches, and their tactics.

4. Planning the tactics and instructing the players on the field.

5. Delegating duties to the coaching and medical staff.

6. Making transfers during the transfer window, which includes buying and selling players.

7. Confronting the media in pre and post-match interviews.

My Goals On My First Year As A Manager
It is very good to know the work you are to do before you step in for it. Every football manager has his own objectives when he is appointed as a manager for a particular club. Meanwhile the club too has its own demands for you to meet as a manager. So as a manager my goals for the first year of duty are;

1. I will make sure I work very hard to meet the objectives of the club for that particular season to gain their trust and support to work better in the coming years.

2. Apart from meeting the demands of the club, I will sign players who play according to my style, to build an effective team and make way for those who aren’t ready to go with my style.

3. I will also make sure I study all the players to know them well and know their likes and dislikes to improve effective communication between I and the players. And also build a strong relationship among the players.

Why I Choose This Role As My Favorite
I'm a boy who love football so much. I choose it as my hobby and I have being monitoring football when I was a child.
Due to my love for the game I always like playing football games like fifa and pro evolutional soccer (PES). In this football games I usually create a manager mode league precisely on fifa 2020 just to manage my favorite club.

Managing My Club (Spurs) On Fifa 2020

I'm very good at selecting players for their respective position. This is what I do when I'm in the house, I have organized a team of players ranging from the ages 7-15 and I named it as "Young Stars". I manage them and I do invite friendly matches for them to play.

Most at times when I'm playing football with my teammates I do command them on the pitch, motivates them when we are down, keep encouraging them to keep pushing till the end of the game. My desire for this role keep on increasing whenever I look up my role model in this aspect who is Josep Guardiola Sala, the current manager of Manchester City Football Club.

The Person I Look Up In This Role
Off course we all have the one we look up to in where ever we find ourselves, be it football, basketball, table tennis, and so on. Pep Guardiola is the one I look up to and he serves as my role model in this aspect.

Pep Guardiola was born on the 18th Jan, 1971 in Spain. He was a former player who spent most of his playing career at Fc Barcelona and a Spanish professional football manager. He was a player who played the role of a defensive midfielder, he spent most of his career with Barcelona forming part of Johan Cruyff's team that won the first European cup for the club in 1992 and four (4) league titles. He is the current manager of Manchester City. He is one of the greatest managers in football history. He holds the record of the most consecutive league games won in La liga, Bundesliga and the Premier League.

He started his managerial career at Barcelona B during the 2007-2008 season, due to his hard work and intelligence in his work he was appointed to the senior team Barcelona in 2008-2009, he then proceeded to Bayern Munich in 2013 and he is now the manager of Manchester City. Pep Guardiola has won a lot of trophies both as a player and as a manager but here we are only considering his achievements as a manager since I'm talking on the role of a manager. In all Pep have a total of 29 trophies in eleven (11) seasons as a manager of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. I think this is fair enough to tell you how great he really is. He has worked as a manager and his role is outstanding considering his achievements in that role. This is why I choose him as my role model and perhaps I want to be like him if God permits.

To conclude with, i will like to say football as a whole is an interesting sport but there are some specific roles that makes up a football club and one of the most important roles is just what i wrote on (Football Manager). I think my write up on the role of a football manager is ok to see how this role is essential in the game.
