Morphology: The Study of Structure in Language

It lsks at the smallest units of meaning or grammar, which can be free or bound morphemes, meaning they are able to exist independently or as attachments. Morphological analysis makes it possible for researchers to see how words can be constructed from such features as the initial letters and subsequent forms of words. For example, the term “unhappiess” contains morphemes “un” as the prefix, “happy” as the root and “-ness” as the suffix. Morphology is an area of intersection ot Great Lakes-among many others. While observing morphology, researchers can perceive some intricacies of the language and its biological basis.
