Hello beautiful people, happy Sunday. Today i will be writing about moringa plants and their benefits as to participate in the contest organised by @abu78. I say thanks for organizing it.

Moringa oleifera is its scientific name. Moringa is a plant that can easily be grown just like every other plant. But due to lack of knowledge about the health benefits of these plants, the growth has been slow. But over the years due to research and other media involved in spreading information, the health benefits of moringa was known and today its grown in most parts of the community .
The plant just like every normal plant has a root, stem, leaves and fruit (which mainly comprises of its seeds).

Importance of Moringa

  • There are alot of health benefits about this plant. From its roots to its leaves have different uses.
  • The leaves, roots and seeds can also be process to produce other products like soaps, sweets, herbal liquids that can be used to treat several skin diseases, digestive tract infections and more.
  • This plant is also very important to health as it has limited side effects and these side effects can easily be managed.

There are a lot of benefits of moringa but im going to write just a few from experience. I will write about uses of the leaves and seed because i haven't used it roots though it also have its own benefits.

Moringa Leaves

  • its leaves when harvested, should be air dried under a shade till they turn brown. They can be crushed or ground as seen above . This can be drank daily as tea. Even without crushing, these leaves can be placed in hot water for about 3mins, to remove its extract and drank as tea.
    This helps in rheumatoid fever, arthritis, joint and muscle pain.

  • The leaves when crushed can be used in producing a bathing soap such as "chacha moringa savon*

This soap is very effective for rashes and other skin infections

  • the leaves can also be crushed to create a herbal extract with other combinations effective in treating rheumatism, joint pain, cough and catarrh.

Moringa seeds
The seeds can be crushed to make moringa sweet which is used for gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhea. These seeds can also be eaten like that for same purpose.


Areas favouring the growth of moringa

Moringa can be grown in every region of Cameroon and it doesn't require much care or special attention.

This is a very important plant has it has a lot of health benefits, with images displayed, someone can easily identify this plant, try it for yourself.
