Hello steemians, hope we are healthy. Remember health is wealth. Today i will be talking about some basic Technology in health

Thanks to Technology that some certain basic parameters can be measured with ease. At times i wonder how medicine was being practiced in the old !!. Im sure their senses such as :"touch, smell, taste, hear and seeing were used to the maximum level.

How could a parameter such as blood pressure be measured?? How could you know if it's high or low since other factors directly influence the outcome.
But thanks to technology today where we have moved from manual BP machines to electronic BP machines.
We even have electronic BP machines that could tell the normal values from the abnormal.
Some may signal abnormalities when recording. All these thanks to technology.

I can recall as a student, we had a lecturer that could touch a patient and tell the Patients temperature. He was about 90% accurate and my question was how did he get to that level of using his sense of touch to that extent.
He said in their days studying medicine in Cameroon wasn't an easy task because or limited or no instruments. Imagine a health center with just one thermometer and you have so many Patients to attend to or they may be using it on one and you have an emergency.... you wont stop everyone because you want to use it. Thus our senses became acclimatizatised to the situation. We learn how to develop and make use of them in need
He added imagine now with all equipments that are available, hospitals still have shortages, then imagine those days with no roads
Then i understood the scenario.

But could this actually go for all. No!!
Thanks to technology for coming up with equipments that have aid in facilitating our work in the hospital.
Today we have thermometers at affordable prices, we even encourage every patient to own his or her thermometer and those that can afford share a common thermometer that is cleaned with alcohol to disinfect it before using on another patient.

To write about impact of Technology on health is inexhaustible and Hopefully i will continue to share as time goes on.
