Why should there be a President?

It's a pleasure on my path to share with you all my entries in this week's contest which is titled Why Should There Be a President? which is organized by @ridwant. It is an interesting contest and I would love to drop my entry ASAP.
Before we go ahead I would like to invite @dave-hanny, @drhira, and @lhorgic to join this contest in this community today and share their participation as well, I do hope to see and read your entries as well.
What does the election of the Head of State (Election) mean to you?
The election of the head of state is something that is supposed to be of interest to everyone and the reason is not far-fetched. Head of state election is the process where the masses select their leader who will lead and direct them for a certain period.
Everyone eligible is supposed to take active participation in the event because it is a means where we have the chance to select who we think is best for us as a leader.
So to me election of the head is state is an important aspect in every country which helps us to put into position those who we want to be our leaders.
Why does the president have to exist?
The president has to exist because he is a key representative of the people. When a president exists, in any country, he then takes charge of the affairs of those living in the country standing in the gap for them.
Since we do not have the means to represent ourselves in world meetings, we need a representative who will always be there to represent us and that is the main reason why the president has to exist in a country.
With the existence of the president in a country, the people will be highly represented anywhere around the globe. They have people or someone who will always talk on their behalf.
What are the criteria for a Head of State/President that you like?
Every country I guess has criteria for the head of state or president selection and for that reason, there are a few of these criteria I know about which is being considered in my country that I like so much.
One of the criteria usually considered is that the person must be educated and must not have any criminal records attached to their name or profile. So the person must also be a Nigerian and must have all the qualities of a Nigerian.
