"Beware of Bullying"
Greetings and welcome to my blog. Am glad to be here to discusss this all important topic that affects different class of people from children to teenagers and even adults.
Bullying is a repeated act of causing pain or distress to peoples mental, physically and psychologically wellbeing through actions or words. Many people have been victims of bullying at one point or another in their lives. I have not been left out of this malicious act.
I was a victim of bullying during my secondary school days. I was of small stature while in school and amongst the smallest in my class yet was among the brilliant ones. This kinda awakened some type of jealousy in some of my classmates who were much more bigger than I was.
I don’t know what I did to these ones but for some reasons best know to them, they just kept picking at me. They didn’t bully me physically because it wasn’t permitted in our school. Any student that beats another will be expelled so the only weapon they had was to bully me verbally. They literally attacked me on all fronts. I simply ignored them and when they saw I wasn’t paying attention to them they rested.
Bullying is a bad thing and can affect children tremendously hence parents should properly equip their wards to guide against bullying through the following ways;
Children should be thought on the importance of being self confident among their peers, most timid children fall victims to bullying.
The children should learn to stand up for themselves in the face of bullying.
They can report to the necessary school authorities if they are victims of bullying.
One can avoid bullying in several ways;
In the case of physical bullying, the victim can avoid the paths of the bullys. He or she should take a different route or simply avoid their paths crossing if they are not strong enough to stand for themselves physically.
I’ve come to know that ignoring bullies work a lot. They derive their joy from seeing you distressed or miserable. When they noticed that there’s no response to their antics, they would rest.
Building self confidence and being assertive and not appearing beggerly will go along way to make bullies know you are not someone to be picked on.
In conclusion, bullying is not a good experience for any child and they should speak up for help if found in any such situation. Thank you for visiting my blog. Your contribution is welcomed as I invite @presh07, @ ruthjoe and @divinelife to participate in this contest.
