Good morning everybody! Our storks went for a walk. It's pretty cold now, so I added straw to their enclosures so they can warm their feet. Traditionally, storks leave our country every year at the end of August and the beginning of September and fly to winter in Africa.

But as you may recall, my storks cannot fly. They all had a wing injury. But can they winter outdoors? They can. The only condition is that the bird must be healthy and well fed.

I will say more. Now, due to climate change, more and more storks remain to winter in our country. At first, people started to panic. They called us and other shelters and demanded to save the birds. But if the bird is healthy and can fly, there is no need to save it. It will survive perfectly on its own. But if you see such a bird, you can treat it with fish or lean meat to support it in the winter.
