Everyone has their own perception of the world, everyone has their own view on society, everyone has their own view on money. When we are still students, we are educated by parents and teachers to study well, must go to college, or we will not find a decent job.
When we enter society, we are often asked, "How much money you make per month?" Almost all of the people we meet, at our age groups, measure a person's status by whether they can make more money and whether they succeed.
Few people care if you're still sticking to your dreams, and few people care if you're happy. It seems that only by making more money can we get more happiness. What can we pursue in life besides money?
Besides money, our body is more important in life. We work for 9 to 5 weekdays to deal with our work. There are even companies that work every day. More often, we have to drink and eat with our customers in order to get contracts from customers.
And these may be extra overdrafts our physical health. The intensity of work takes up too much of our time, not only overstretches our physical health but also seriously affects our mental health.
For a project, racking your brains, can't sleep all night for a report. On the news, often you will see someone commit suicide because of long-term overtime work pressure. If for the sake of money, don’t even have the most basic health, what else do we take to pursue money?
Besides money, doing what you want to do in life is more important. We often care how others see us, care about what we look like in the eyes of others because others are using wealth to measure whether a person is successful, so we gave up time with family, gave up our favorite things, gave up our principles, want to do everything possible to pursue wealth.
In order to make more, some people keep changing jobs, not because we like it, but because another company pays a higher salary. In order to make money, some people give up their principles, sell trade secrets, and earn more.
Besides money, accompany our families are more important in life. Parents are the people who bring us to this world, when they grow older, we spend lesser and lesser time together, and only parents do not care whether you have money, will not let you use your life trade for money, and they need more company and care;

Personally this has to come down to preferences vs conveniences.
Many has pretty much compromised their principle with conveniences. With technology, it is supposed to help others to able to have more time with private and family life, instead, technology continue to bind and enslave of the vicious get-go, get-success cycle.
When that happens, inflation happens, and even if you choose to be homestead even, you are unable to run from constant change of regulations and also the (non sexual) pornography of marketing of never satisfied: by being constantly bombarded by temptations of never satisfied.
This boils down to spirituality, psychology, and conscious decision of saying:
No. Enough is enough.
