The History of Chess

Hello Friends,

today I come with the intention of sharing with you the history of chess, a game that at least is boring if practiced avidly.

Contrary to what many think, this game does not come from Europe, it comes from Asia! It was established mainly in the society of India, and its creator is really unknown, since the merchants sold them on an itinerant basis and spent it traveling between countries, which is why the name of its "creator" was lost over the years.

  • It was a game that had its first proliferation in the sixth century AD.C, being its relationship with mathematics and strategy what most attracted the attention of that time, however not everyone could play, especially because it was a game that was considered "upper class" being the aristocrats its only good participants.

  • It had its second proliferation once the Arabs conquered Spain, about the ninth century was in greater recognition, because it had reached Europe ... From here the recognition worldwide was on the rise.

This game had a change in the sixteenth century, because a certain group of chess players of the time began to develop a little the gameplay of the board, because they considered that the bishop and the queen were "empty" pieces since these until then could only move to a square away. In this redirection of the rules could also be included "the capture to the step" and "the enrroque". In the same way, from this century chess ceased to be an exclusive game for the nobility and began to get involved in universities, once it was known in these institutions, it proliferated in many places, such as cafes. Even chess schools were formed... The game improved in every aspect.

The eighteenth century brought with it endless things and improvements to society, and for this game was no exception, after all in this century the first official chess tournament is played. It is not as if there have been no tournaments before, but this is the first to be taken as a chess tournament itself under foundations or organizations. And it could be said that this was the final step to have chess as we know it today and if not the preamble, because in 1924 the "International Chess Federation" was founded, an organization that confirms a formation of 195 national chess federations being "Gen uma sumus" its motto, which translated into Spanish is "We are a family".
