SFS Contest Picture of the Day Week 53

It was a fine day

There were a bunch of teenaged boys, sitting there nonchalantly, in a small park that is surrounded by coconut trees. They had just completed a team sport activity in the village park. All the while—despite the difficulties they might be facing—smiles and laughter rule the atmosphere.

To the left was a woman wearing a red scarf who was chatting with a companion and now and then brought up her hand. Next to her was a young male wearing a black jacket and was staring at something in his hand. At the same time, a gentleman dressed in all black seemed to be on the telephone, possibly relaying something funny to a pal.

They were all chatting, one group about the morning volleyball game, another discussing an upcoming hike they had scheduled for next week; some of them reading a little book quietly. They did not seem to want to leave, even though the game had concluded, reveling in what time remained.

The room grew lively as one of them cracked a joke. Everyone roared in laughter, and more started smiling who had not even uttered a word. The bond was warm, familial in that family-reunion sort of way. This was a day they would never forget. It wasn’t just the physical exercise — it was the camaraderie. They discovered how easy happiness is by sitting together, talking and laughing.
