Introduction

Fashion is one thing that changes over time and it’s borne out of creative minds. This contest, hosted by @pea07, is given us the opportunity to showcase our craft to the world through sewing and I’m glad to be part of it. I’ll also invite @us-andrew, @basil20 and @bossj23 to participate in this challenge.

I sewed this striped cloth a year ago, and since I was in a hurry to leave for my office, I gave it to my cousin to help me iron it because I was expecting the owner to come pick it up that day. Only for the customer to call me while I was in the office, telling me that my cousin had burnt the hem of the cloth with the iron. Thank God the customer was a close friend of mine, so we were able to settle it peacefully. I paid for the damaged material.

Recently i visited my closet and saw the cloth lying there and it wasn’t my size because I’m far bigger than the customer. In order to amend, I had to cut off the burnt part of the cloth making it look like this curve shaped you see in the picture. I did it for both front and back and then used a golden piping to stitch the edges all round.

To increase the allowance of the clothes, I had to add extra black fabric at the side of the clothes, so that I will be able to wear it easily. I also increased the size of the neck. There was slight error I made there but it’s not noticeable because I had to cover it with a black piping.

I had to remove the previous shirt long sleeves that was there before and make a black short sleeves with the golden piping to make it look unique. I’m glad it came out great.

After sewing the sleeves, I attached it to the bodice of the clothes and It came out perfectly. I have a feeling if the owner sees this new design, he might be tempted to collect it 😊😊
