Summer Season vs Winter Season, which one is your favorite season & why?

In Nigeria, we do not have summer and winter rather what we have in this part of the world is the rainy season and the dry season therefore these are the terms I will be using. I have always been a fan of the rainy season regardless of the small number of negative effects and the troubles that follow its activities.

Dissimilar to the dry season that is known for dust and harmattan, that is much of a health challenge to me. In the case of the harmattan, I am forced to regularly oil my body, especially my lips to avoid the usual uncomfortable, breakages. These breakages are the resultant effects of the dryness that follows this season.

Consequently, I derive much comfort from and like the rainy season that moisturizes my body, especially my hair and gives me much calm and blissful weather conditions that offer sleeping comfort.

Tell us about the advantages of both seasons or your favorite season.

One can see the advantages and disadvantages of the seasons from varied viewpoints.

The dry season has two stages, the stage of heat, coming from the increased weather temperature, and the second which is harmattan which is known for its high degree of coldness.

In the course of the harmattan, washing is very enjoyable as it takes a little for washed clothes to get dried. This is the result of the hotness of the weather in which there is no precipitation.

Another advantage of the dry season is that wetness, stains, and dirt are at their minimum level and this leads to an improved state of hygiene. Furthermore, there is an increased productivity level as businesses and other outdoor activities are not interrupted by rain.

During the dry season, construction work is at its peak reason being that there is no fear of rain hence construction activities are made as large as possible. The rainy season, on the other hand, is a planting time, the happiest moment mostly for farmers.

Farmers do not joke about the rainy season as it determines their yields. So they cultivate in the early stages of the rainy season for better produce. The rainy season does not come with much heat rather helps in alleviating the hotness of the day.

Tell us about the disadvantages of both seasons or your favorite season

In the dry or harmattan season, there is usually excessive dust that circulates a lot of contaminants in the air which leads to airborne diseases such as catarrh.

The rainy season is known to bring about flooding which we know as a natural disaster that damages properties, materials, and even human lives. In Nigeria, such conditions are on the high, particularly in riverine regions.

The rainy season in conjunction with our dilapidated roads, makes it so difficult for us to find our way through. Sometimes several casualties occur and all these are as a result of water-lodging. In addition, a greater number of erosions occur during the rainy season and it makes the road construction more capital-intensive and elongated.

I hope I have been able to contribute my quota on this topic. I would like to invite @chiiheanyichi, @xkool24, and @hisgeneral to also join the contest.
