The Debate (no.27); Equity principle should be prioritized in creating a fair society!!

Tell us what you understand by equality and equity.

EQUALITY: based on my own understanding simply means that every individual is given an equal opportunity or resources to sort out their needs.

EQUALITY: focuses on the idea that everyone should be treated with equal opportunities, that is, no one should be given less or poor opportunities due to some reasons such as where they come from, whether they have any disability, the way they were born etc. Everyone should be given equal right and attention, irrespective of who or what they are.

EQUALITY: means everyone is treated desame way, irrespective of the places they are coming from.

EQUITY: in the other hand, simply refers to as having an intensive understanding that not everyone is coming from a desame background or place, so there should be conscious effort to make adjustments for fairness based on what an individual needs is.

EQUITY: can also be seen as acknowledging and recognizing that every individual or group of people are either coming or going through different circumstances that may prevent them from being treated fairly.

EQUITY: means providing every individual with what they needs in order to progress or succeed.

Their various advantages and disadvantages.

ADVANTAGES OF EQUALITY:

1. Equality fosters peace and unity in communities, State, nation and world at Large.

2. It highly reduces the environmental degradation and also affects political institutions positively.

3. It serves as a driving force for efficiency of the economy.

DISADVANTAGES:

1. It pays less attention to personal needs.

2. The scenerio for the implementation of equality is usually not thoroughly examined before execution.

3. There is no bridge in gap between individuals or group of persons or people.

ADVANTAGES OF EQUITY:

1. It bridges the gap between individuals or groups .

2. It centers majorly on the needs of individuals.

3. Being successful becomes easy for everybody through equity.

DISADVANTAGES:

1. Evaluation becomes very hard and difficult because of it's variation.

2. It is not easily justified in the ground of quantity.

3. Equity is time consuming, because you will need a whole lots of time to dictate and know what individuals or groups needs are in order to meet those needs amicably.

Then your personal opinion on which prioritize.

My personal opinion on which principle to be prioritize is equity.

Everybody who lives in the world today, is coming from a different circumstance. Some are rich and are doing well, while others in the other hand are poor and are really struggling and striving hard to live.

So if equity will be prioritized, I think and feel that our world will be a better place to live in, especially for the disabled and less privileged ones.

Therefore, in order to create a fair society, I am on the opinion that EQUITY should be prioritized.
