The problem of pollution in our environment is increasing day by day and it has increased rapidly since the time of the Industrial Revolution. Due to the increasing number of factories and vehicles around the world, pollution levels have increased manifold in the last few decades. While on one hand the smoke emanating from vehicles and factories has polluted the air and made it difficult for us to breathe, on the other hand the waste coming out from industries and homes has contributed to water and land pollution which has led to many serious diseases.

In today's time, plastic plays an important role in spreading pollution. Plastic which is obtained from fossil fuels such as oil and petroleum. It is extensively used to make plastic bags, kitchen items, furniture, doors, sheets, packing items and many other things. People prefer to buy items made of plastic because they are quite light and economical compared to wooden and metal items , without realizing the damage it is offering to environment.

The increasing use of plastic is increasing the amount of waste generated and due to which its disposal is becoming difficult day by day. Plastic is a non-biodegradable substance. It breaks into many pieces and gets spoiled but does not get mixed in the soil, due to which it remains in the environment for hundreds of years and spreads pollution. Even if it is buried in a landfill, there is a possibility of it leaking and spreading pollution in the ground and water. Plastic cannot be destroyed even by burning, because its combustion produces many poisonous gases, which can cause many hazardous diseases. Disposal of plastic bags has become a big problem today.

Plastic bags are a major contributor to plastic pollution. This is a type of pollution which is extremly harming to the environment, due to which it has become a serious threat to life on earth. Therefore, to reduce pollution it is necessary to ban plastic bags. Plastic bags cause land, air and water pollution, which is why it is banned in many countries. However, they are still used in many parts of the world due to which they have become a serious threat to the environment. Just banning plastic bags cannot solve this problem. To protect the environment, we need to ban other plastic items also.

This is the time when we need to understand the seriousness of the problem that ultimately how plastic is harming our environment, causing adverse effects on the environment as well as on trees, plants, animals and marine life and mankind. But a serious crisis is still looming. We should reduce the use of plastic products to ensure the protection of the environment so that a clean environment can be created.
