What is plastic?

Plastic is a material that is utilized extensively worldwide.Plastic pots, buckets, tea cups, straws, water bottles, soft drink containers etc. are used everywhere from the corner of the kitchen to the house. Even hotels use polythene bags made of plastic to supply juice or tea.

Many people use plastic products for storing or heating various food items at home. As it is relatively cheap and readily available, we are dealing with plastic in many ways every day.

Environment and plastic use

As human beings we claim to be the best.We have access to everything thanks to information technology in this day and age. Intelligence to solve any problem proves our superiority. But despite all this, we are very helpless in some aspects. As the globe and human civilization get older every day, there are an increasing number of unsolved issues that we must often overcome formidable challenges in order to find a solution. The big leaders of the world today are all joining hands to sustain their existence. And the main problem, which has threatened our existence, is the problem of climate change.

Multiple causes of climate change are facing us. In most cases - these are more man-made than natural. The most important of these is plastic pollution. Polythene and plastic wraps are being used every day to wrap our daily necessities and after using these products, polythene and plastic wraps are thrown into drains, roads, fields, rivers, canals and crop fields as waste. Land is losing its fertility due to dumping of polythene and plastic waste, drains, rivers and canals are obstructing sewage disposal and rivers and canals are obstructing fish farming. Under the influence of ocean waves and sunlight, plastic products gradually break down into microplastics. Along with water and other food, this microplastic enters the body of various organisms. Once the food chain enters the human body especially through fish, which causes extreme health problems in the human body. Additionally, chlorinated plastics release toxic chemicals that leach into groundwater and surface water. And in this way we are constantly affected by taking water and entering it into the food cycle. On the other hand, the process of plastic production releases greenhouse gases, which contribute to climate change.

Finally, by conducting an analysis of the economic effects of plastic environmental benefits, we can conclude that banning plastic is the best course of action. Reduce plastic use.
