Apart from the layman explanation the organizer gave us in the contest most of us don't Know the meaning and difference between the topic globalization and nationalism.
...Globalization is the process where countries depends on other countries for some scarce goods and services in their country....while nationalism can be seen as the process where the country decides to be independent and focusing on producing their own goods and services without the help of other countries

Which is more important for countries: focusing on global connections or prioritizing their own interests?

Focusing on global connection should be more important and preferable in many reasonable ways such as .....

• Because some countries lacks the resources and capitals to produce some essential goods services they need which you all know without globalization it would be much more difficult to survive it.
• the way globalization has helped a lot in development and growth of many developing countries through the aspect of grants, loans, exchange of goods and services they get from the developed countries which I know without globalization it won't be possible for some countries to develop to this extent.

• Globalization is more important than nationalism in terms of comparative advantage, because the cost of producing or manufacturing some goods is very expensive in some country or the resources to produce it may not be available to enhance the production of such goods but through the aspect of comparative advantage and globalization those goods can gotten from other countries.

• Globalization also allows the movement of people and information from one country to another just like the way some foreigners are seen in other countries, without globalization I don't think this would have been possible.

• Globalization also promotes peace and unity among nations and also gives awareness to new culture and tribes which I know it would be difficult with nationalism

• It gives business opportunities and also creates employment opportunities in many countries which has help in reducing the level of unemployment and poverty in many countries but with nationalism some level of business opportunities and employment will be low and at the same time leads to decrease in economic growth and development.

• Globalization also helps to prevents monopoly and increases the quality of products and minimizing the prices as well

How does globalization affect international relationships compared to nationalism?

• Globalization affect the country economy positively in such a way that it prevents crisis and conflicts and aslo leads to peace and collaboration between many nations.
• Globalization strengthens the bond between nations and states through the aspect of comparative cost and advantage
• Globalization affects the international relationship positively in such a way that it allows commodities to flow across national borders constantly making trade easy and profitable .

Is there a way to balance globalization and nationalism for better international relations?
As for me I will say it's very difficult to balance the both of them because the both don't work hand in hand but language, socialization, common political, economic background, and international relations can helps a little in the balancing aspect .

What are the pros and cons of a globalized world versus a nationalist approach in today's world?
According to Collins English dictionary pros and cons of something are its advantages and disadvantages, which you consider carefully so that you can make a sensible decision.
The advantages of globalized world includes...it leads to the growth and development of many countries, it also increases nations national income through foreign exchange, it brings peace and unity between countries and states.

The disadvantages globalized world are, it leads to devaluation of some country currency, it brings corruption among nations, it leads to reduction of some country identity and culture, and it also reduces and terminates some developing countries pride and sovereignty,

The advantages of nationalist World includes...it boost the pride of country, it helps country and states to be independent and free from exploitation from other countries, it also promotes and strengthens countries identity, it also unites the citizens of a particular county.

The disadvantages of nationalist World includes...... it leads to low development of a country or state, it also leads brings about monopoly and scarcity of some essential products, it also encourages deflation of price of goods and services.
