Thanks to all team members of Steem Fashion&Style for giving me opportunity to participate in such a interesting topic of discussion. Before I start my presentation I would like to invite three of fellow Steemians to participate in the engagement challenge. @daprado1999 @viajarparasanar @paholags

Summer Season vs Winter Season, which one is your favorite season & why? Advantages of winter.

My city Kolkata 22.5726° N, 88.3639° E coordinates make it a tropical region. Though there are in theory and literature six seasons mentioned but actually one can feel only two seasons mainly Summer and rainy seasons here. These sessions are very important for agriculture and cultivation. Ofcourse it rains almost through out the year intermittently.

In the city life rain is curse in many respects like water logging and road damages with potholes. Transport and traffic movements slow down. Weather is damp and gloomy.

However it brought a brief respite from the sultry and extremely humid climate of summer. There are many typhoon and cyclone damaging the coastal town in the entire region including city. In 2020 about ten thousand big trees were uprooted by last Amphan cyclone in the city. There are flood and drought prone areas too due to scattered and nonuniform rain.

Due to global warming and climate change the temperature is increasing by one or two degree celcius every year.

Actually there is a shy of relief for a month or so from mid December to mid January which we consider as winter here. Only in two occasions I enjoyed winter for about three months when I stayed in West Bengal state district Purulia and Balasore in Orissa. During this span of time I wore pullover upto month of March.

I traveled mainy places like Simlipal National reserve forest and other places for short trips and picnics.

Christmas and New year's day are also celebrated during this time with lots of fun and feast.

So by default most of the people's favourite season is winter including me.

There Is a fastival called Nabanna, day after the harvest when a special payasam is made with new rice, milk, dry fruits and nolen gur.

We may have different seasonal flowers and flowers exhibitions are held by many authorities including Horticulture Society of India.

Tell us about the disadvantages your favorite season.

Ofcourse the day time in winter is short and outside stay is not recommended for unhealthy atmosphere to complete additional work.

There are diseases like flu and influenza

Due to fog railway single become invisible from distance causes delay in train journey and late in reaching destination.

One has to wear extra clothes. It sometimes look funny wearing a monkey cap and wrapped in chadar.

As it is not season for local fruits there's absence of seasonal fruits in market, only shipped or transported fruits from other places of India and abroad are available which are expensive also.
