Cordial greetings to my beloved fellow steemians, it is @emmaboy23 from Nigeria and I am filled with much joy and happiness as I partake in this contest. Before I start I would like to thank @drhira for bringing up such a contest as this to allow us write on our different topic and share our own different perspectives.


Before i start I would love to invite @mesola, @missyleo and @steemnurse01 to also share their thoughts on this contest.

INTRODUCTION

I have come today for the purpose of partaking in this community contest with my topic titled: lesson learned from getting older. In life everybody ages, we get older each day adding constantly to our age, our knowledge and we also learn different things in this stage also, both in our lifestyle and in our daily work.

THREE LESSONS LEARNED FROM GETTING OLDER

Lesson in which I have learned as I am getting older are;

BE WEARY OF ANY OPPORTUNITY YOUR COMPLETELY READY FOR

You know sometimes there's an opportunity before you maybe an opening somewhere or you want to apply for something or you want to pursue something and a lot of time your trying to meet the requirements, many times when people go for opportunities they don't have everything that is required. I have noticed that the best opportunity are those ones that keep you on your toes, the uncertainty has a part to play in shaping your life. If you have everything and know everything it simply means your life will be predictable and boring

REJECTION HURT LESS

As you get older, the pain from rejection is not as deep, why because you were rejected a couple of times as an adult. Nobody wants to be rejected but as you grow older it becomes fuel to you fire,it becomes part of your story and makes the eventual success even sweeter. Experience and wisdom helps you to manage rejection and sometimes even expect it, cause your getting older and your wiser.

Life has its ups and downs nobody in this world has always won without loosing. Something I have realized is that many times rejection becomes redirection, have you ever been in a position where you were thankful to God that they didn't accept you into the place or get that thing you wanted to get that time. Because you were rejected it has redirected you to the path which is even better that the one before. So lesson number two from getting older is that rejection hurts less.

SPEAK TO YOURSELF MORE

Ad you get older, speak to yourself more and engage in retreat have moments of silence and ask yourself questions. As you get older, you begin to crave solitude, you want to spend more time with your thoughts and again it okay to have an amazing social status to be the person everyone knows and being popular but at some point of getting older you start to isolate yourself from the crowd, because you see popularity is the desire of young people. Don't get me wrong am not saying that there's anything wrong with you if your old and you want to be popular or famous but you see that popularity scheme is a child's game. As you grow older while you can become popular it's your value that put your name on peoples lips. So when you get older it's your value and your work that determines if you are popular but then you get to crave your solitude and your space.

HOW HAS THESE LESSON IMPACTED YOUR LIFE

Life is full of lessons, but I particularly think while we get older there are certain lessons we learn in life that helps us be a better person tomorrow. So I can confidently say that these lessons learned as we grow older can lead to a path of success in life.
