The Debate (no.24); Unlimited knowledge is better than unlimited wealth

Unlimited knowledge • I would chose unlimited knowledge over unlimited wealth because ignorance is quite expensive. No matter how wealthy a person is, if he is ignorant, his ignorance might cost him a deadly and irreversible mistake. Example a wealthy man who invests on areas he has no idea of will get swindled or lose his money example in forex.

• Unlimited knowledge draws attention to the person from far and across the globe. Where unlimited wealth cant reach or go, unlimited knowledge can. A wealthy person can't sit and discuss with scholars and professors because he only has wealth but no knowledge, so he won't know what they are talking about or have an idea, but with unlimited knowledge, one can sit with even wealthy people because they will invite him to advise them on things and also want to see him and associate with him. Example people from far and wide visited king Solomon in the Bible to hear of his wisdom and see him in person. Also, having unlimited wisdom brings respect. A person with unlimited wisdom might even have access to see the president of a country but a wealthy man might not have that access unless he wants to do business. A man with unlimited knowledge might be the answer to the problem in his country or in the world like the great inventors of old and like Mark Zuckerberg.

• Wealth if not well managed, can be lost with time. According to the Bible, it's like a bird with wings that flies away but unlimited knowledge can never be lost despite the years. It's in the person and stands still through the ages. The person is never forgotten because of his knowledge example is Thomas Alva Edison who invented the telephone and light bulb. He is never forgotten even tho dead tho some rich people who lived in his time have been forgotten.

• A man with unlimited wealth is protected by only his wealth, he is myopic because he has confidence in his wealth but with unlimited knowledge, a man may apply the right measures which will help him survive and he thinks outside the box.

• A man with unlimited knowledge can gain unlimited wealth through his knowledge. This is because as people are visiting him, they will appreciate him. Also, he can be called upon at different places to seek solutions to the issues they have. He might get paid and he gets wealthy but most times, people only associate with a wealthy man because of his wealth, but once the wealth is no more, people move on. With wisdom, unlimited wealth comes but unlimited wealth without wisdom is poverty waiting to happen.

Unlimited knowledge uplifts a person and takes the person to height he wouldn't have reached ordinarily or with just wealth. Example, Mark Zuckerberg, with his knowledge is known in the whole world, and through this his knowledge, he has generated steady wealth. With only unlimited wealth, he wouldn't have been known worldwide.

• Unlimited knowledge makes one reach his goal in life, because the person will use his knowledge to achieve things. He will be a problem solver which is what the world needs.

• Wealth does not guarantee happiness, sometimes, a wealthy person is lonely because people are friends with him because of his wealth but a man with unlimited knowledge has his way of getting what he wants, he is sought for by a man of wealth and he can even be the key to the man with unlimited wealth maintaining his wealth.

• When Unlimited knowledge is applied to areas or sectors of the economy, things go well and everyone is happy. Imagine having solutions to the biting economy, solution to the kidnapping and to the corruption and indebtedness of a nation, solution to the wealth of the nation being equally distributed, that person would be highly celebrated and appreciated and would go great heights. Example is Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the director of the world trade organization who is the first woman to hold that position.

The truth is knowledge is expensive and unlimited knowledge very expensive. To acquire even the basic knowledge which is grade school is expensive, so for someone to gain unlimited knowledge, the person must have books, read hard, have gadgets like phones, laptops, have data for research to gain knowledge. He must also have money to pay for different trainings and to get certifications, so a person who sets out to acquire unlimited knowledge must be focused and discipline while trying to gain it. Even when it seems as if it will not be easy, he must not give up, because at a stage, he might gain help through scholarships. So unlimited knowledge is good but it starts with acquiring the knowledge with money in terms of paying school fees and buying books to read. I chose unlimited knowledge tho I can add unlimited wealth as secondary.
