"[CONTEST] My Skill is My Power || by De prince

Introduction

Greetings stemians and happy New year,it feels good to be back again. The introductory part of this Contest got me. It says, "the future belongs to those who learn more skills and combine them in creative ways."

Of a truth, skills are asset that helps us in life. One thing about skill acquisition is that, once acquired can never be lost, it's a life time thing. Special thanks to@pea07 for a great contest like this.

    My skills

Having a skill is good expecially when you acquire it from tender age,why because before you get to maturity stage,you would have been a pro in it. Though no time is late in learning a skill but it's good to start early.

One of my product

Am a professional barber who takes delight in giving people nice haircuts. Barbing is a nice profession that gives you the opportunity to meet different people but it seems I am not serious with it, not because I don't like the skill but I have a skill i learnt while I was an undergraduate. This skill is shoe making,I have come to love shoe making like my life depends on it. Back then in school,I had go to school and also go to the shop to learn how to make shoe, though I didn't plan to school and work but hunger made me do it and today am not regretting it.

It feels good seeing people wear my product and at the same time give good recommendations about my work to people.

Below is a step by step procedure of how I made some of my products.

The first step is marking and cutting of my fibre.

Here I had to cut out the area marked with pen so as to separate them.

The second step involves padding and taping

After cutting my fibre, the next thing I did was to apply gum on the fibre then padd it, after padding I tapped it with the colour of material I wanted to work with.

The third step is preparing my upper(folding & sewing

Here,I had to apply gum on the material. After allowing it to dry,I folded it then sew.

The fourth step involves lasting and chemicaling

After lasting my work, now it's time to rub chemical for coupling. After applying the chemical, it's advised that you it for about an hour to dry before coupling.

The fifth step is knacking of heel and packaging.

Done

As we can see, the work is done.
My advice to the young lads out there is try acquiring a skill. It helps. And also inviting these great steemians to take part.
