Contest: The Debate (Week 44); Presidential Debate
Greetings Dear Friends.
How are are you all doing? Hope you all are good. Well am glad to participate in this awesome contest. My profaned gratitude goes to the administration @sahmie who organized the contest topic "Presidential Debate". And I'd express myself if am made the President.
How would you address income inequality in our country?
Before i dive in lets have a clearer insights of what inequality mean;
Inequality is an unequal distribution of privileges, opportunities, and resources in a society. This can manifest in various forms, such as economic inequity (unbalanced income), social discrimination (such as race, gender, or ethnicity), and political unfairness (uncertainty access to power and representation). So therefore to address income inequality in my country Nigeria for example requires alot of multi-tasked approach that includes strategic economy, health and investment in human capital which involves;
• The Health-care Services:
Health-care access is another significant obstacles and hurdle that needs to be addressed. For me, this would be my number one priority to be addressed in order to revamp and reshape our healthcare infrastructure and establish them too. majorly i would focus on affordability and quality health care services and it's needs to be tackled. To sad some clinics and hospitals do not actually focus on saving the life and safety of patients but after their money which is absurd and uncalled for and this act has taken/killed patients who couldn't afford some health centers.
So to harnesses this, i would regulate and improve immediate, effective and fast responsivness to treatments. Although healthcare doesn't guarantees a patient's survival but at least what matters most is the healthcare services and ensure to do their parts. We should understand life is the most important before money and any other thing therefore our health is like money that needs to be taken care of. Also i will focus on the private sectors so they can provide health insurance, buy equipments and the same the government focuses on the service provision.
Another aspect i would look into is the area of remote rural areas who do not have sufficient and adequate healthcare services. Here i would ensure that health care facilities are distributed and debused equally also given easy access to specialist care. And for this to function effectively i would provide basic requirements and social amenities like good roads, water and electricity.
• The Minimum Wage/Salary:
Here's minimum wage for government worker's needs a serious increments and adjustments to reflects the inflations and cost of living nowadays. Most government workers especially the civil servants in Nigeria has complained and voice out for adjustment on thier wages.over the time i over heard a civil servants complained bitterly on how the work like an elephants and in the end the feed like ants!. Sincerely i felt her pain because sometimes while they work during payment time they skipped their salaries.
A bit relieve sets in as the committee implements the provision of the National minimum wage Act of 2024 which has increased the national minimum wage of lawyers, civil servants etc and this was enacted by President Bola Tinubu who approved wage for all government workers hopes to implement more.
•Quality Education:
To address quality education requires a comprehensive faced approach which includes up grading some schools, access to clean water and adequate schools' furniture providing of digital resources and online learning platform lastly given scholarships and free education for less privilege students.
What policies would you implement to improve healthcare access for all citizens?
Firstly i would provide an agency like Health Medical care services (HMCS) to carry out necessary tasks involving reduction in costs for low-income households, provide an emergency vehicles and equipments, ensure steady supply of essential treatment and meditations, deploy (HMCS) in rural areas. So to make all this active and work I would partner with other agency in the aspect of health ststem know how to control,manage and make this work and utilized them.
How would you approach environmental conservation and combat climate change?
There are strategies on how to approach environmental conversation and also combat climate change which are as follow;
•Create Awareness:
Awareness raising is an important component for the adaption process to control the impacts of environment and climate change. This requires strategies of effective communication to reach out the targeted audience to a desired outcome. Moreso, this awareness involves the various forms of media through which the message can be passed across through social media(Twitter,facebook,Instagram),internet, newspapers and television.
•Education and Skill Development:
This is a vital conceptual approach for me to address environmental conversation and climate change thus translated into education,skill developments and even seminars initiating curriculum integration of climate related issues developing teaching techniques and training materials for the individuals who wants to acquire skills. To achieve this i would improve climate seminar and trainings along the entire educational and training chain and this relies on the ability to train,educate,upskil,reskill and empower those that can take them.
•Transportation/Urban Planning:
As a result of environmental conversation and combats in climates change there are frequently adverse consequence that occur with changes. The quality of air, urban heat and erosions. However it is necessary to adapt strategies and formulate urban resilience/transportation therefore urban planning plays an important role in terms of climate changes.
What strategies would you propose to enhance education and ensure equal opportunities for all students?
Equal means "one measure; the same in quantity, degree, worth, work/income, education, level or uniform in operation.This means that every Nigerian citizen/students should be able to fit into the
educational system including the handicapped and the deafs and dumb. So with the position as the president it is my responsibility to see that policy is made and
enforced to the benefit of her citizens' education, without discrimination or whatever.

Free and quality education is another powerful tool for me promote equitable education systems which is crucial in fostering understanding, and cultural sensitivity. Also i would provide resources and supports the low_income households ensuring equal access to quality education.
Another way i will propose is to ensure equal opportunities for all students by encouraging and praising thier efforts, improvement and growth that would motivate my students and also appreciate my students on their achievement on take home assignment/projects and accomplishments. This will spin them to do more. Alot of teachers are caught in the web of making most students feel less of themselves thereby making their self-esteems low.
With this i can pave the way for a more equitable society by addressing the systemic barriers that hinder a good quality education.
How would you tackle issues of social justice and equality within our society?

To tackle issues of social justice and equality within my society in Nigeria i would first enact and excute law that would guide and protects the people and the human rights ( knowing that nobodyis above the law), ensure that there is equal opportunities, free education and grants equality regardless of your status,culture,race,gender, and beliefs by combining these remedies i can create and unlock a brighter future in a society that values justice,equality and freecfrom the bondafe of social injustice.
