Democracy or dictatorship: Which is better for stability and progress?

The word democracy is derived from the Greek word "demos" which means people and "Kratos" meaning power or rule. Therefore democracy can defined as the power of people to carry out political activities in a state or country. While

Dictatorship is a system of government where absolute sovereignty is been given to an individual or state. It is also seen as a type of government rule that practices the system of autocracy.

Democracy makes the way for citizens to have the right to partake in political affairs like elections, and political education, there is absolute Independence in the electoral commission to avoid the misconduct of elections. While

Dictatorship supports autocracy which encourages absolute rule that gives the ruler infinite power over decisions in that country or state. This kind of government system does not allow the people to be able to oppose the decisions of the ruler and will make the general public powerless which will lead to instability and reduce the progress of that nation due to the inability of the citizens to express their views.

How does democracy help a country move forward compared to a dictatorship?

Democracy helps the country to move forward through the provision of the role of law.

The role of the law is the act of law that brings news of the Country's budget to the people there making the general public aware of the country's economic status. It also ensures that acts of impartial government and just rule in the country relate to the safe welfare of their citizens.

The rule of law encourages the following impartiality in judgment, accessibility, open government, accountability, and much more democracy has the interest of its citizens at heart.

Dictatorship does not allow the citizens to have a say in matters relating to the Country's growth. But democracy allows that so if the citizens have a say in the politics and economy of the country it will make the country move forward because the citizens Know what they want for their selves.

Can a dictatorship handle tough times better than a democracy?

A dictatorship can never handle tough times that will lead to the betterment of society but democracy can.

Doctorship is autocratic but democracy is of the choice of the people. So this should be enough reason to say that democracy can handle tough times in the country better than democracy because the elected will seek advice from the electorates on the way forward the tackle the situation but dictatorship will only allow the elected to make decisions even without consulting the general public.
