Steemit Engagement Challenge-S12W5 | Favorite Travel Destination

Steem greetings to all friends of the fashion and style community from the motherland-Cameroon. It is another great moment to share content concerning week 5 of the engagement challenge.

The topic of discussion for this week is all about “Favorite Travel Destination”. every day we work hard to acquire some dreams in life which of them is to travel for vacation or leisure trips to relax either with family and or friends.

Today, I am opportune to share with you all one of my favourite travel destinations and I hope you all find pleasure in going through my write-up. I will focus on the guiding questions raised below.

What's your favourite travel destination & why?

One of those places I long dreamed of visiting someday is Rwanda, especially Kigali. I have heard and learned so much about Rwanda and would love to visit the country one day.

The reasons for my choice of a favourite travel destination are as follows:

• I have learned so much about the genocide that occurred in Rwanda and the transformation from a conflict to a peaceful society. I want to visit Rwanda to have an eyewitness account of the transformation and development in Rwanda. Having first-hand experience there will help me to learn new strategies as a conflict expert to implement back in my own country for peace to reign.
• I want to travel to Rwanda to experience the top-notch security of the country. I have been in an insecure environment for a long time now with serious gunshots becoming a normal sound even to kids. I just need to be in an environment where the sound of a gun will not scare the hell out of me. I will sleep with a peaceful mind without being scared of abductions, or indiscriminate killings.
• Lastly, my two sisters live in Kigali and from their experiences shared, they talked much about the cleanliness of the place. I would love to visit them there.

Any speciality of that particular area.

One speciality of the area is that the climatic conditions in Kigali are friendly. I mentioned earlier that my sisters lived there and from their experiences shared with me, the climate there is favourable.

Also, running a startup business in Rwanda is not too costly as compared to my country where heavy taxes are imposed on you. From my research on Rwanda, doing business there is profitable given the fact that taxes are not too high as compared to Cameroon.

There is also a good airline with direct flights from Cameroon to Rwanda. Travelling to Rwanda will not be costly because it is a direct flight from Cameroon using Rwandair with good services.

Lastly, one special thing I would like to see is the genocide memorial centre. Visiting this centre will enable me to learn about the events that led to the 1994 genocide that led to the death of over 250,000 persons.

Any special moment/ incident related to your favourite travel destination.

Some of us have stayed for years without any physical contact with family members. My case is not indifferent though we communicate on the phone daily. But I would love to travel to Rwanda to meet with my sisters after some years of staying apart.

The last time, the three of them were together was fun as they shared pictures reuniting with my other sister. I could only share in their fun via pictures and video calls. I would love to have a special moment with them.

Lastly, a special moment I would love to have is to talk with survivors of the genocide in 1994 in Rwanda. I would also love to have a great moment with the judges of the ga-cha-cha court in Rwanda who presided over cases of genocide.
