This outfit is very popular in my country Nigeria, especially in the eastern part of Nigeria 🇳🇬. That's the Igbo tribe in Nigeria it's the official uniform of the igbos in Nigeria and it's called Isiagu which means in English the head of a lion u can see it in the image below
This uniform is very important in the western part of Nigeria as it signifies that you are from the eastern part of Nigeria 🇳🇬, any occasion that's been held in the eastern part of Nigeria 🇳🇬 it's the outfit that's been worn by everyone most especially the celebrants wether it's marriage ceremony or any other events that's been held in the eastern part of Nigeria it's this outfit that's popular there because it signifies that you from the eastern part of Nigeria 🇳🇬 that's the igbos.
They was a time that my church was celebrating cultural day I did not witness it infact I didn't went to church because I didn't have the Isiagu outfit to represent my tribe which is the igbos it will look some how for me to be dressed different that's in an English outfit that's why I decided not to go to church so I will not look different among others.
And am very proud to come from the eastern part of Nigeria 🇳🇬 that's the Igbo tribe.
The story of how I bought it it's quite interesting, because I have been longing to have this attire all through my life, I saw it in one of my friends body and I was very jealous of him in order not to waste my time thinking about it I quickly rushed to him and asked him where he got it from and he told me that he bought the material from Abia state Nigeria 🇳🇬 and he gave it to his tailor to sew it for him. Without hesitation luckily for me my aunt was traveling to Abia state Nigeria to visit her sister and I used the opportunity to tell her that I want to give her money to buy for me a certain material and she collected the money from me and traveled, when she came back she bought yhe material for me and I was very happy as at then it cost me #3000 Naira for the material alone and I went to my tailor to sew a Favourite style for me and he charged me #5000 naira for the sewing of the material making it a total of #8000 naira that I spent just the get the outfit.
I was very happy the first day I wore it because the first day I wore it was during Christmas day celebration.
Again that same occasion came in my church the next year and I went happily to the occasion and represented my tribe which is the igbos and we perform massively and won the price.
I have also use this outfit for different occasions like harvest and other events.
I must say that am very happy participating in this contest and also letting the world know about my favorite festive outfit
