Today I am delighted to participate in the contest of “SFS Contest | Week 26 | Drawing Contest | Draw A Dragon Fruit”. I would like to thank the organizer of this amazing contest, @hive-126193 for providing such an opportunity to unleash creativity. Here is my special drawing – a dragon fruit and I really expect all of you to like my drawing as much as I liked drawing it.I would like to dedicate this drawing to all people as it reflects my vision of an interesting and colorful fruit – dragon fruit. I appreciate your comments and encouragement, let’s be creative.

Drawing Process for the Dragon Fruit 🍉

Step 1: Draw the shape

First I sketched two oval shapes which I envisaged would be the body of the dragon fruit. One oval is used to represent the whole fruit while the second one is used to represent a half of a fruit. These ovals create the initial frame-work of the dragon fruit. and i draw a little half cut dragon fruit and shape it as moon.

Step 2: Adding the Skin

Then, I drew an outline of the upper part of the dragon fruit again emphasizing on the rough part of the fruit’s skin in the form of small spikes. I then proceeded to add the spiky edges around the whole fruit, and the half cut fruit to make it look like a dragon fruit.

Step 3: Preparation for Coloring

Having drawn an outline, my dragon fruit was now ready for the coloring part. With these colors, I started adding real life into my drawing.

Step 4: Coloring the Skin

I started by coloring the outer layer of the dragon fruit using a combination of green mixed with light lemon and yellow color. Such combination proved beneficial for the purpose of drawing out the fresh look of the skin.

Step 5: Coloring the Surface

Regarding the outer skin of the dragon fruit I have introduced a magenta color layer. This was a bold color that captured the outer skin’s intense look of the fruit. To the half-cut fruit, I painted magenta on the inside, then carefully painted seeds with black color. For the other half, I painted the inside with the same magenta tone.

Step 6: Final Touches

And also included the seeds and this needed to look as realistic as the fruits looked appealing. When I am finished with the coloring, I looked at the drawing again and tweak some of the colors to balance it and to make sure that the details are distinguishable.

Thus, I was able to finish drawing the dragon fruits to emphasize its bright and distinctive look.
